Batclark is such a fun ship and I need to write it one day.

Not some identity porn, no no.

I need big bad Batman fall for this stubborn, very human reporter that always seems to be in the same places as him.

That gets himself in trouble constantly and Batman needs to save him every time.

But it's hard to stay mad at him for being reckless because he risks his life to expose the corruption and other crime. Doing the same thing as Batman, just with pen and paper.

He isn't afraid to get his hands dirty either. If someone needs help, he helps, no matter how dangerous it is.

And Batman can't help but admire the man's belief in people and better tomorrow despite seeing and reading about the most vile things a person can imagine.

Clark is one of the very few people that, just like Batman, believes that Gotham can become better. That there's still hope for this city.

And he's also one of the very few that isn't afraid to call out Batman's bullshit while staring him right in the eyes.

It's hard not to get close. To not invite Clark in and reveal more of himself to him.

The only reason Batman tries to scare him away still and get him to leave Gotham is so he doesn't become another of her victims.

Because Batman isn't sure he will be able to live with Clark getting hurt or killed in front of him.

And not because every death he couldn't prevent always sits heavily on his conscience.

I need this two to work together and butt heads.

I need Clark to peel Batman's armor, both literally and figuratively, and show him love and compassion Batman rarely experience.

I need Batman to cover this fragile human with his cape to protect him and asks him if he's okay after while cradling his face gently.

I need Clark to stop Batman's blood from escaping his body after Batman took a knife to the ribs for him.

I need them to kiss in the rain after near death experience, Clark's hands playing with the cowl, asking for permission and backing away when Batman denies it.

I need Batman's enemies noticing this one man in following him around, and kidnapping him to use him against the Bat.

And I need Batman to go absolutely crazy from that, showing just how much he actually cares about Clark.

Hello I don't go here but i wanna visit purely because i saw a post with an interesting plot and I wanna see what's up

Basically the prompt was that everyone and their mothers think that bruce wayne and batman are fighting over clark kent and the descriptions that followed were so funny i just had to check for fics or comics

Unfortunately I since lost the post that I found and I've been thinking of it since. I'd usually look for fics myself but I've literally never read any dc fics so idk which tags to search for. So I would love y'all's help in findin this post and/or suggest fics with this plotline or something similar

mmmmm batclark (more here) where clark gets injured with kryptonite but is able to (mostly) handle the situation on his own...

he picks out all the kryptonite shards from his gut and somehow is able to stumble home, but he looks like SHIT and feels worse.... and he's also still sluggishly bleeding cause its been a few weeks since he properly refilled in the sun.... something he majorly regrets when he trips over his doorjamb and ends up sprawled out in his entryway

he'll be fine once the sun rises and gives him a little more energy, but clark quickly resigns himself to sleeping on uncomfy linoleum for the night

until he hears shifting from deeper in his apartment.

he's never had his apartment broken into before so its a bit startling. clark kinda just lays there for a while trying to figure out how to handle it without his powers for once (and passing out as soon as he stands up.... he's so tired.)

he doesnt realize he'd blinked himself to sleep until there are sudden frantic hands flipping him onto his back and pressing into his stomach lacerations OW

"batman...?" he gasps, eyes all bleary.

but he can recognize the leather gloves passing across his clammy skin. and when he squints past the blur he can see the tight way batman is clenching his jaw.

"what happened?" batman asks, voice dark. he's pulled out medical supplies, and clark reaches out to put his hands over them.

"I'll be fine," he mumbles, or maybe the words slurry together bc batman's eyebrows furrow (its slightly visible through the cowl, the way the muscles tense. its cute. clark loves seeing those microexpressions). "don't waste all this on me," he tries again, tiredly. "i'm fine."

time kinda blurs then as there's a lull in batman's movement.

clark doesnt realize he's passed out again until hands (ungloved) lift his head and eyes, intense even behind white lenses, stare him down.

gentle fingers trace along his jaw, wiping away the sweat that had gathered from all the pain. clark is embarrassed to admit that he doesnt take pain very well, not when he's so used to invulnerability...

batman sighs, and it almost sounds shaky. he leans in, until clark shuts his eyes and feels the material of the cowl pressing against his forehead. batman is so close that he can feel how the other man's ribs flex as he forces himself to take deep, calming breaths

"clark." batman doesnt flinch when clark's hand reflexively responds to the call, resting against his back through the armor. "who did this to you...?"

IDK WHERE I WAS GOING WITH THIS 🤸‍♀️ ive just always wanted to write the "who did this to you" trope hehehehehndbsnwmskdj

anyway i think clark ends up just pretending he got mugged or something, not ready to reveal he's superman just yet.... batman cant stay all night but i think he spends a few hours just watching over clark to make sure he doesnt suddenly pass during the night (always paranoid)

Batclark fucking where Bruce will take off the cowl during it but stuffs his face into a pillow so Clark won’t see it

Bruce visits Clark in his hotel room to scold him for getting in danger.

Again.

But the heated argument turns into a heated make out session and they end up in bed.

Bruce wants to stop when Clark uses his knowledge from times he patched Bruce up, to now take off his armor.

He wants it. He wants Clark so badly, but he's not ready to show his face to him.

But Clark promises not to watch, and to ensure he doesn't, he offers his tie that Bruce uses to cover up Clark eyes.

Bruce is still hesitant to take off the cowl, but it gets too hot in it so he does. He presses his face into the pillow, cries of pleasure muffled as Clark fucks him slowly, telling him how amazing he feels.

Bruce could say the same, the other man so deep he almost feels the cock in his throat, and it stretches him so wide it's on the verge of pain.

he's definitely going full protective mode from clark's injury because how dare someone hurt his cute midwest polite journalist who's done nothing but be nice. this is a gentleman who carries bags for his old lady neighbour no matter how late he is for work and brings injured strays (cough bat) home to help them so hurting him is like kicking a puppy a big nono- batman is already mentally planning twenty steps ahead to find whoever it is and ensure there will be consequences.

meanwhile clark's heart is fluttering from the growl in his ear (he can't help thinking batman's rasp is so sexy and wonder how it'd sound in pleasure-) but also lowkey panicking because how does one explain a gaping hole in his gut magically disappearing when the sun rises to the world's greatest detective without exposing himself as a sun-powered alien.

maybe this is set where superman and batman aren't really close yet, like at most professional colleague on good terms and they're definitely not ready for an identity reveal

batman disappears before the sun rises thankfully but enter bruce wayne, who starts regular visits to the planet and throws himself at clark, flirtatiously touching him (to check for wounds and scout out potential threats) and clark's standing there stiffly, doing his midwest passive aggression irked at bruce's obnoxiousness but something is strangely familiar about the way he smoothly moves his hand (insert the sexually charged energy surrounding them that everyone notices but them)

anyhow batman definitely amps up the guarding (read:stalking) and they end up going on not-dates where clark goes somewhere and lowkey looks like a lunatic talking to air while batman silently follows him out of sight. batman following clark for hours while he's trying to chase a trail and clark noticing and subtly (read:very obviously) try to feed batman when it's near dinner time not unlike feeding a feral stray cat.

ok i ran out of steam and also don't know where this goes. sorry for the rambles - i just wanna say yay to more batclark!! and superbat identity shenanigans kekeke

but yes omfg there's no way batman is going to just let clark get hurt all over again when he's supposed to be under HIS protection. it's a mistake he will NOT be making again !

i think it really makes clark's heart race because he's never really been one who 'needed' to be protected, so this is a first experience for him being doted on and all that... usually when he's hurt with kryptonite he'll just tuck tail and run to the fortress, but batman keeps insisting on taking care of him and touching him all gently and frowning (so cutely...) whenever clark tries to insist that he's fine !! it's.. really nice, and clark has to try really hard not to take advantage of batman's kindness and just suck up all the doting BAHAHA

q(≧▽≦q) just to keep the au going for as long as possible i love batman not realizing the wound healed up INCREDIBLY fast... maybe when he tries to check it on the next night clark is just blushing and holding his shirt closed like a virgin maiden so batman just gruffly gives him scar cream and makes him PROMISE to tell him if it looks like its getting infected....

BUT YES when bruce wayne all of a sudden pops up and starts flirting with him, clark would be Very defensive (and honestly a little guilty every time he gets that same heart fluttering feeling when bruce bats his eyelashes at him....) and try to avoid the man, not knowing it's just batman trying to keep more of an eye on him.... (who is VERY huffy to be shunned so quickly by clark BAHAHA)

waaaaaaaa and now i'm back on my feeding bs BAHAHA i love clark just insisting on getting food in batman as much as possible, even taking to climbing up a fire escape to meet batman on a roof while he's doing a stakeout, with a lil picnic basket (clark is surprised by how EASY batman makes that look btw... if he needed to breathe like a regular human clark wouldve been WINDEDDDD)

BUT THEY ARE JUST SO CUTE TOGETHER UGHHHHH imagine one day they're one a real tall skyscraper and the sun is starting to rise over the horizon and they've just been sitting and talking for hoursss, just enjoying each other's presence, and clark is like "i should probably go, i have to get to work on time or perry will kill me" and just as he starts to head for the stairwell, batman grabs him by the wrist and is like "let me try something?"

and clark of course is willing to do just about anything batman asks of him,,, batman pulls him in close, the barest hint of a smile on his face, and clark gasps when an arm circles behind him, resting on the small of his back, before batman leads him to the edge of the building.

"trust me," batman murmurs. "i won't let you fall."

and then they're freefalling through the air. its such a different feeling than when clark is flying by himself, its a RUSH of air, and the ground is coming up so FAST and its SCARY (and for a second he think he's gonna have to cut in and save batman from splattering across the concrete)

and then there's a FWOOSH of fabric as batman's cape flares out and then they're gliding on the air currents and its ?? so magical?? clark cant do anything but blink incredulously as batman tightens his hold on him and lets them float down down down like an actual bird on the wind, carefully drifting between buildings, smiling when clark laughs and gives him a kiss on the cheek

♪(´▽｀) somehow flying is more fun when it's with batman holding him like that !!
