So, this all started when I decided to ask @magicbatesball about his OC, Bates Billiard. Shocked at how Bates seemed to have similarities to my own character, Lillia Gemma Morgana, I asked him if it was alright if I drew both our characters, and he was happy with the idea, so here we are!

Ah, this post is turning out longer than I anticipated, so more details under the Read More Line!

Admittedly, I didn’t really know Bates’ color scheme, so I decided to just use pencil this time around. First time I tried drawing Lillia without using colors outside of a sketch, admittedly. ^.^;

And before you guys ask: Bates has one hand on a pool table (I think I was aiming for the idea of him leaning on the table, but I don’t know if I succeeded in that or not) and Lillia’s jotting down notes. Now I doubt I drew that Pool table well. OTL magicbatesball did mention that Bates would often be found playing pool and I remember in Motivations that Lillia often took notes, so this seemed like a fitting scenario.

As for why the pool table’s empty? Um... let’s just say that Mangosteen was busy elsewhere and nobody noticed the two at the table yet. From what I understand, The Devil doesn’t seem like the kind to approach any ordinary gambler (only those who seem likely to gamble their souls at the time of his approach), and I have the impression that the members of the King’s Court are basically in charge of areas related to what they are (such as Mangosteen being in charge of the pool tables). As for King Dice? I’m under the impression that while he is the manager and thus has to check up on every part of the casino to ensure things are going smoothly (and possibly to alert his boss about potential souls to get), he personally handles the part that has dice related gambling, such as the Craps table shown in Cuphead’s Intro Cutscene.

... I can’t imagine how King Dice would react if he catches these two chatting with each other. Lillia doesn’t actually know how to play pool.
