Since I mentioned my weird Gotham geography in a Kon ask and I already posted one reference I have for the story I'm working on, I figured I'd share the mock up I did for the Greater Gotham Metropolitan Area (Plus Metropolis in the corner). It's mostly based on maps of Gotham I managed to scrounge up online, but since none of them could actually agree on anything except mostly the shape (and even that's not 100%), I didn't bother to use any of them.

The only thing I purposefully changed was the location of Bristol. The place I put it is usually labelled as Tricorner, while Bristol is always somewhere on the mainland. I moved it partially because I feel like Bruce should live closer to the city for Batman reasons and partially because I always thought Bristol was just a neighborhood and not a city in its own right. For the record, Bristol is within Neo-Gotham's city limits, which is why it uses the same texture as NG. I just colored it different for my own clarity and because, in universe, younger Gothamites tend to see Bristol as separate from NG.

Bristol is mostly home to the old money, traditional families and their centuries-old homes. The squat old manors don't really fit in with the high tech high rises of the rest of NG. The neighborhood also has a lot of technological dead-zones as a result. The younger generations' opinions of "the Point" vary between dull and creepy to quaint and retro.

In any other story, Gotham City would cover both Neo-Gotham and Gotham North (and how did I just realize that makes them NG and GN?), but at the point when the story takes place, the city had been divided up into two cities. Most people outside of the GGMA just refer to both as Gotham, but even the oldest Gothamites stand by the divide.

If you're curious about who in the family works were:

Neo-Gotham is Batman and Oracle's territory, though Blue Hood and Ten live there and occasionally help out and Jackdaw will show up as needed or just to hang

Gotham North was all Red Hood's until Batwoman forced him into a teamup

Blüdhaven is home to Nightwing, though Swift helps out her baby sister if she's not busy with the Titans

Orphan and Signal swap out caring for Burnside depending on who's got Justice League or day job business keeping them busy

Sommerset is protected by Rook, Jay, and Metro, as well as Jackdaw when she's not flitting off to Neo-Gotham

Metropolis (which is not in the GGMA, but close enough) is protected by Superman and Flamebird

The Palisades is a mostly rural area so it doesn't see anywhere near as much crime, usually just run off from other areas so it's just first-come-first-serve
