"J. B. SHARPE OF BATH RECEIVED GUN DISCHARGE,” Kingston Whig-Standard. January 15, 1932. Page 3. ---- His Gun Went Off While He Was Getting Over Fence --- John B. Sharp of Bath met with a painful accident this morning near his home when he was accidentally shot. Mr. Sharpe went out early this morning for the purpose of shooting pigeons. In getting over a fence, the gun which he was carrying accidentally discharged, the shot entering his side.
Neighbors came to the assistance of Mr. Sharpe and Jame Reid's ambulance went from Kingston and conveyed the injured man to the Hotel Dieu Hospital. It was stated at the hospital today that it was not thought Mr Sharpe 'a injuries would prove fatal although it could not be definitely established at that time.
Mrs. James Knapp of Wolfe Island, an elderly lady, suffered an unfortunate accident in her home on Saturday when she fell and broke her hip. She was brought to the Hotel Dieu Hospital on Sunday, being conveyed to the hospital in James Reid's ambulance.
“Two Bath Youths Are Sentenced to Prison,” Kingston Whig-Standard. February 23, 1932. Page 5. ---- Guilty of Theft of Articles From Kingston-owned Automobile --- Napanee, Feb. 23 - William Young and and Albert Thompson, the two youths from Bath who were remanded by Police Magistrate Graham a few day ago, came up for sentence on Monday morning. On a charge of theft of articles from a car, Young was sentenced to nine months determinate and eighteen months indeterminate in the Ontario Reformatory.
On a charge of breaking into a car, the property of Hugh McDonald, of Kingston, the accused was given one month, the sentence to run concurrently with the above sentence.
On a charge of theft of articles from a car, Thompson was given three years' suspended sentence and for breaking into a car, the accused was given one month’s suspended sentence to run concurrent with the above sentence.
The charges were the result of escapades which occurred on an evening at the time of a dance which was given by the Women's Institute of Bath.
