Dear people designing lolita sewing patterns:
WE LIKE ZIPPERS. WE LIKE CLOSURES. PLEASE GIVE US THEM.
No one, NO ONE, wants to lace and unlace themselves into the corset lacing on their skirt every time they want to take it on and take it off.
Closures are great! So is elastic! Having to take this entire 4 yard ribbon in and out of these little loopies every time I want to wear this skirt is NOT GREAT.
Give. Us. Closures. Like, throw some sew in snaps in there and call it a day! Give us. a way to get into and out of this skirt that doesn't feel like we're getting ready for a Elizabethan re-enactment thing. Modern corsets have hooks and eyes and busks for a reason and that reason is that lacing yourself into and out of a corset every time you need to use the toilet is miserable.
