i have been redoing the caulking in my apartment's bathtub/shower because theres landlord hell in there and it's frustrating cuz theres gross flecks coming out of the wall that id rather not think about and just the fact that caulking isnt actually as hard as whoever did this last seems to think it is (wiggly and lumpy as hell and done over old caulking).... it doesnt help that the plastic siding in the shower is so old it breaks at the friggin slightest touch

Sneak peak of our bathroom!

Our teeny tiny door was removed and a new 30 in. door has been bumped out and installed to enclose that stupid little hallway and while I knew it would make a big difference, I still can’t believe just how HUGE the bathroom feels. Our original, original plan was to also remove that wall you see on the right, just past the linen closet door, but we discovered a chimney lives inside that wall and having it removed would cost roughly $3-5k, so we decided it wasn’t worth removing it in order to gain about 12 sq ft of space. Now seeing the progress we’ve made, I definitely think it was the right call.

We still have quite a bit of work to do before the bathroom will be done. As you can see, the old tile floor is still there and the light color is still giving me pause on moving forward with charcoal tiles, but I’m trying not to think about it and insisting on going with my original plan. PRAYING I won’t have regrets. You can see a sample of the tile we chose (on the floor to the left of the ladder) and I’m just so afraid that I’ll wish we had done light and bright with the whole bathroom.

SO thankful for all my uncle’s help with the door frame and super proud of my husband for all the work he did with my uncle.
