I love him 👀-
Using a limited colour pallet giving to me by my bf I created an art piece of Boris the Wolf!
Perhaps not the central relationship in the game but I still think about Henry and Boris' friendship.
They were the only things/creatures in the studio that didn't try to kill them upon first contact with one another which must have been a relief for eachother. Specially Henry finding out that at least one of his characters wasn't turned into a monster hungry for his blood.
By the time Chapter 3 starts, it's clear some time has happened after Chapter 2 to the point that the two are comfortable with eachother's presence. Boris allows Henry to sleep in his room and roam around his safehouse, not to mention the little game score they had at the table. Boris even holds the lever hostage in exhange for bacon soup but Henry doesn't seem to mind it and agrees to his demands.
When they leave the Safehouse, Henry doesn't separate from Boris, shedding light on him so he won't get scared in the darkest areas. Henry trusts Boris not to abandon him when the Wolf enters the vents with the only source of light available so he can open doors and continue the journey.
When the two meet again, Boris spooks Henry with a Bendy cutout for funsies, showing he's comfortable around Henry to mess with him in friendly ways and he provides Henry with a weapon.
They enter Alice's territory together but after seeing what she has done to other clones of Boris, he decides to stay in the elevator, waiting for Henry to arrive and clearly scared of both Alice, the Butcher Gang and the Ink Demon.
When Alice eventually betrays Henry and drops the elevator to kill him, Boris had the choice to leave us to save himself but he stuck around and attempted to wake Henry up before being dragged by Alice into the darkness.
In chapter 4, Henry's priorities shift from escaping the studio to saving Boris from Alice's clutches. Things go south and we were too late to save Boris, who despite recognizing Henry is forced to hurt him. Still holding onto that bone Henry gave him in Chapter 3.
Henry eventually kills Boris and he approaches his corpse as it's desintegrating into ink. It's why the theme for the fight is called Death of a friend.
Between Chapter 4's end and 5, Henry records audio logs in captivity, there is one where he states the following:
''I dont know what to make of them either. Times like this I wish Boris was still with me. He didnt say much Boris. But he was a good friend to have. I miss him. I just couldn't save him."
He misses Boris, the only friend he had in that hellhole (at that moment). It's why he draws Tom a bone to resemble his fallen friend.
Henry can't save Boris, the only things he can do for the wolf is write these apologies.
The only way Boris survives is if Henry and him never cross paths, which is why in Lone Wolf he managed to escape the studio, away from the cycle where he's forced to meet a friend, be tortured by Alice and brutally killed by said friend. He escaped the cycle.
I'm hoping for them to reunite if not in the Cage, as it takes places during Dark Revival, then in Bendy and the Ink Factory.
HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!!!1!
uhhhh It's not too late to be proud of being yourself, right?…
Mickey is straight; he's only there because of Oswald
I did that on my mom's iPad :D
Since Henry was the creator of both Bendy and Boris, the fact Henry has to kill them is very cruel.
When I was in 5th grade, I used to bring either my Bendy, Boris or Alice plush to school with me and I would only play with them when during recess.
Once when it was Boris's turn, I was playing hide and seek with friends and a guy I used to be friends with made the joke that Boris was in love with me and made the plush kiss me and I felt guilty because I thought I had cheated on Bendy.
Never brought another plush other than Bendy after that.
So....Is it just me or like....Bendy's age kinda effects his role? This is by no means a stab at any of the creators of any of these. I just like to story analysis, it's one of my favorite things to do.
Any time Bendy is in the position of being an older brother is is usually way more empathetic and understanding. He's still got those selfish traits and not telling people when he has an issue....
But when he's the younger brother he's kind of a brat...Like Bendy is still himself but his selfish tendencies seem to come up WAYYY more when he doesn't have the responsibility of being a good role model for his brother.
