Looking down at the unconscious man, she chuckled, "Not such a big boss are you." The woman mutters, glancing down at the silver reflection from the blade in her hand. Something within her tells her to kill. 'No.' Gemma quickly corrected her thinking those thoughts were the old her. She was going to get justice, not vengeance. Head quickly looks over her right shoulder. Shit, she wasn't alone. Quickly and quietly, she hides within the shadows, hoping the person would pass by, only believing that the man had overdosed and is passed out on the streets.

     Despite the rudeness of his words, his tone sounded more wearied. He should have known better than to sneak up to the bar’s rooftop to have a cigarette. Finding a bar that allowed smoking was wildly few and far between, especially in America. While the brash friendliness of the average Yank was oddly endearing, the national tendency toward prudishness was irritating at best. Truthfully, John was used to having to step out for a fag by now, but he didn’t like the stares. Hence why he’d clamored up the narrow staircase to the roof. A moment’s peace with a nice view.

    Well — until he heard the soft sound of boots on the concrete rooftop, anyway. Mentally he catalogued which one it would be. One of the Bats probably. The Birds were louder, in their own way. He rubbed his brow tiredly.

Cass's apartment should have been empty when she came in, just to herself but... Inertia was seated in a clearly focred casual manner on her couch, others would not have picked up on it but he had been there for a hour or too, growing restless, nervous and fidgeting with his hands, hiden for the most part by how he crossed his arms like he was hugging himself.

"Long time no see Batgirl, not much for staying in contact with old teammates are you?" He spoke in a casual, almost friendly tone but he held himself like he expected a fight, was tense and nervous.
