A big headcanon of mine is that Tim is weak to pain but responds well to pleasure. He idolizes Bruce and just wants to be praised by him. He gets a little braver as time goes on, but at the end of the day he just wants Bruce to hold him and call him "Good boy".
Dick is really switchy so he can handle pain, but he knows when he's gone too far with the attitude. He gets a harder spank that stings just a little more than the others, then he puts on the puppydog "I'm sorry daddy" eyes because he knows that that works (most of the time).
