Could Be Worse
Roy Harper/Reader, ≈350 words Eh, screw it. I'm re-branding this as 'send me a prompt and I'll write something, cause all I really wanna do is get back on the horse, idc word caps rn.
He’s exhausted, you can see it in his face, in his posture, in his expression as he walks through the door, and that bodes in your favour.
Before he can lay his eyes on the whirlwinds of a mess that is currently his living and kitchen area, you crash your lips onto his, running your nails through his hair and locking them at the base of his scalp, the very spot you know drives him wild. It’s working, because he follows you as you precociously guide him towards the bedroom until…
“Wait.” He murmurs against your lips, pulling back just enough to look at you through heavily lidded eyes. “Where’s Lian?”
“She’s in bed.” You inform him. It had been your first time babysitting her alone. You’d all but begged Roy to trust you, and on all accounts but one, you’d done a perfectly adequate job. You just hadn’t realised how much mess children cause, and you hadn’t had the time or energy to clean up even half of it before he’d gotten home. “Best not to disturb her.”
In an attempt to reel him back in, you seize the space between you by pulling your top over your head, and leading your boyfriend's hand back onto your now exposed body. In seconds, he starts to fall under your trance, his calloused fingers grazing your skin as he eyes you hungrily, but before you can get him through the threshold, he snaps out of your seduction once more. “She’ll complain if I don’t wake her up to say good night.”
“Roy, no, wait!” Before you can stop him, he turns from you. You watch his profile as he takes it in, heavy eyes roaming, examining the toys and clothes strewn across every surface. The dirty dishes accumulated on the side, stains on the carpet, and pictures hanging crooked on the wall.
He takes it all in, and he laughs.
“Wait, you’re not mad?” You call after him as he carefully steps through the minefield.
“Eh. Trust me.” He shrugs, turning back to you with an amused smile. “It could be worse.”
Send me a character/ship & a prompt, and I'll write something between 100-400 words.
