SJW's and gaming
If you live in America, then you probably have heard of a social justice warrior. These are typically individuals who will find a way to get offended by almost everything.
These are the same people who will tell you to check your privilege if you dare to have an opinion different than theirs. This is shown as students on college campuses have thrown temper tantrums at free speech rallies.
In the world of gaming, they like to voice their insane opinions as well.
The new Battlefield game is set to release soon, and there was a video by The Know claiming that the game was sexist because they did not include women in the multiplayer. This game is a war game set in the World War I era.
They make the worst claims ever by saying that the game is already unrealistic due to guns not jamming and tanks not messing up.
This is an idiotic because anyone who plays video games at all knows that making guns randomly jam would be horrific game design. Making a game realistic to the point where it hinders the gameplay mechanics is a stupid idea.
The game is supposed to be immersive as possible and people can believe that guns work properly like they should. What a person cannot believe is that 20 women soldiers are running around with sniper rifles in a 64-player server.
Most women during World War I worked as nurses and other non-combat positions. The women who fought in the war were few and far in between.
It would disrupt the immersion by having a single woman on the battlefield during gameplay because it simply did not happen in the war. It is not realistic. If you compared the amount of male causalities against female casualties, you would see my point.
Another major freak out was when Tracer from Overwatch. This came about when Blizzard showed Tracer with her back to the camera with her butt showing. I know it’s weird, but everyone except Miley Cyrus has a butt so I don’t know why people took offense.
It was not just Tracer in the pose either. It was a basic pose for many characters in the game, but people get triggered by everything. Since this happened, Blizzard decided to take it down.
I think this is just stupid and if you are triggered by a video game or movie then do everyone a favor and don’t play and/or watch it.
