Battlestar Valkyrie

Never was a fan of this retcon episode as it flies into the face of how many years Adama had Galactica. Plus felt liek Ron Moore was cribbing TNG "The Defector" (well if you're going to steal, steal from yourself)

Valkyrie was a Colonial battlestar, belonging to Battlestar Group 41, under the command of William Adama before the Fall of the Twelve Colonies.

Ships of Valkyrie's type appear to have forward facing Viper launch tubes under the flight pods, as opposed to the side facing launch tubes of Mercury and Galactica type battlestars.

Valkyrie is one of several battlestars of the same class that attempt to engage the Cylons over Caprica, only to be disabled by the CNP's backdoors. She is destroyed shortly after.
