Silksong: The Five Hardest Moments
As many of my readers know, I have been playing Silksong, the follow up to the highly acclaimed video game, "Hollow Knight." As many others have pointed out, the difficulty level on the game is very high, with many leaving the game unfinished, many claiming the game is easy to imply that they are super-skilled at video games, and many of those two fields forming a considerable venn diagram crossover.
As I have not even finished the game but found it very easy because I am so great at video games (see unreality tag), here are my top five hardest moments in Silksong (minor spoilers ensue):
#5: The Bilewater Run-Back
Bilewater is a poisoned sewage maze filled with difficult and annoying enemies before an impossibly difficult bossfight with a large frog that knows wizardry. It would be my number one most hated zone but for the fact I finally found a bench to rest on that I'm sure won't fall through the ground and land me in a puddle of-
#4: The Path To Martha's House
Before you can meet your mother for bug-thanksgiving, you have to find her home which is in a long path of brambles, spikes, spines, briars, thorns, and gaps that you can only cross with your most impressive skills, leaving you to wonder how exactly your elderly mom gets around Pharloom. Like, her front door has a colossal beast that kills you in one shot. Who is this lady? Xena, Bug Princess?
#3: Absolute Radiance Visits From Godhome
If you thought you were done with Radiance when you beat Hollow Knight, you were wrong. You were so wrong and now look at the consequences! No, but seriously you have to fight it again for the last mask shard. Have fun with that. I didn't.
#2: Turbo Tunnel
The most demanding reflex festival in Silksong comes between the Impact Crater and the Ice Caverns, when Hornet has to ride a supersonic speeder bike and avoid rapidly and unpredictably spawning obstacles. Also the jump button has to be frame perfect every time or you die.. At least it beats juggling fleas.
#1: Testifying Before Parliament
It's possible to find two types of "summons" in Silksong. One is for Craw Court where you have to fight the Crawfather for killing so many Craws, and the other is a formal subpoena before parliament to testify on the environmental damage you saw in Bilewater. Be sure to study up on Australian law because this is a real test case and if you commit an accidental illegal input, you will be jailed in reality.
Truly, the most fun game since Elden Ring.
