Baxter in Nicaragua ... by Extension Director of CELO, Martín Murillo, acted as a judge for those students in the Homiletic class in Ciudad Sandino, Nicaragua. CELO is a leadership training course offered by the Baxter Institute via correspondence and this case via ZOOM. Martin has witnessed thousands across Latin America complete this year-long course. “Totally Recommended!” Fourth-year student Francia Oviedo completed this one year intensive course while studying at Baxter. Hundreds in the Americas take this course. Francia and her husband will soon arrive in Buenos Aires, Argentina where they will do their 6 month-internship (PAM). Baxter Graduates Women in Prison. Martín Murillo, director of CELO, held a graduation for women in prison who had completed this intensive, one-year Bible course. 19 CELO students from 9 congregations in the Quiché area of Guatemala graduate. 150 people and 3 elders attended the ceremony. Baxter’s Dean Selvin Monterroso shared a message at the event while Brother Adam Benavente offered a prayer of blessing for them. 2017 Graduate David Luis Tzarax ministers in the Quiché. He works with the director of CELO, Martin Murillo, and organized this year-long program. He notes, “We give thanks to God and the Baxter Institute that offers programs by extension such as the CELO course. This was my recorded message to 10 CELO students who graduated from the Jose Dolores Estrada Church in Managua, Nicaragua. CELO is an intensive year Bible study curriculum for Christians. 2014 Baxter graduate and the church's minister, Jonas Chaves, shares: "Yolanda, one of our sisters, said after first class that she could not continue, it was too difficult.
