Mile - 3283, 3422, 3723, 4094, 4120 Goodman Church, Woodland Hills Church, Harding School of Theology in Memphis, Green Forest in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Harding University Lectureship in Searcy, Lewisville Church and Keller Church Dallas/ Ft. Worth. A 97 year-old Christian in Missouri and a 104 year-old impressed us with their faithful church attendance and then there were the many who encouraged us in our mission. “The best class on mission I’ve ever had.” Henry Sori went on to say that Ken Graves’ class help him to understand the nuts and bolts of mission work. This is what he will doing next year when he returns to Cuba to plant a church. Ken and his wife, Terri, were church planters in Brazil for 18 years and have spent the last 12 years at Harding University teaching missions and sending out 150-200 students on short-term mission trips around the world. Baxter is now producing on an average one mission team a year. #baxterharding #baxtermissions #harding (at Baxter Institute)

Rolling out the Red Carpet (a Mexican one) for Ken. Helping us welcome Harding professor Ken Graves were Mexican students Karen and Jhonathan González. Delicious Mexican dishes, sope, tacos and lots of hot sauce, were on the menu tonight. Also getting in on the act were Baxter kids offering a bike ride as well as a warm hug from Colombian, Cuban, Venezuelan and Nicaraguan students. Ken, formerly a missionary to Brazil, will be giving an intensive mission class next week. #baxterharding #baxtermissions #baxtermexicanstudents (at Baxter Institute)

President or Prophet? President Dr. Bruce McLarty of Harding University spoke to Baxter’s Board, Dec. 1, before giving the commencement address the next day. His theme was - “I’m Afraid That ... Don’t Be Afraid!” He discussed how fears are common for those who are leaders and then took us to God’s words to Paul who was fearful in Acts 18:9. The unsettling times that followed on the political front in Honduras have made his words somewhat prophetic to we who care deeply for Honduras. A Taste of Heaven! Harding 94th Lectureship ended with its president, Dr. Bruce McLarty exalting and encouraging a greater appreciation for the Church. Bruce will give Baxter’s commencement address, December 2. 16 will graduate from the 4 year program and 30 from the 5th year marriage and family program. #baxterharding #baxtergraduation2017 #baxterfundraisingseptember2017 (at Harding University)

And They Are Off! Baxter's Dean, Selvin, his wife, Dunia, and son, Joseph Monterroso boarded plane with destination Memphis, TN. Thanks to some very special individuals, the family will be staying on Harding School of Theology's campus and auditing classes there. This sabbatical is for the fall semester.
