InaLog update: started on the all-change dialogue for Chapter 10, but sorting out the sticker showcases made for a quiet week there. For now, instead of pushing on to Mirage and Houdini, we're taking a brief step back to talk about Kirkwood captain Bay Laurel.
Laurel is one of Kirkwood's three Spirit Summoners, as seen above, and the only one not supporting regulated football. His scripted summon during the first half occurs with no fanfare nor dialogue - not inherently odd, since only half of the National Finals matches (Alpine, Kirkwood, Universal and Dragon Link's half of the grand final) utilise Fighting Spirits in their storyline.
However, unlike every other story-significant Spirit Summoner, Leon never appears outside the four GO games. Conspicuously absent in the anime adaptation and TCG's Avatar cards (with the manga irrelevant due to cutting Saints' Way), at time of writing it doesn't appear in Victory Road either. With Triangle ZZ tied to Kirkwood as a whole, the choice to omit Laurel's only personal technique sticks out quite a bit.
