5th Anniversary + General Update Stuff

I've been so busy and only got to drawing something for this today (rather than Oct. 12). Sorry I keep unintentionally dying, a lot of you may know a huge culprit isssssss:

I'll put my rambling under a read more, but basically:

I've been continuously working on myself and trying new things.

I've been very busy so my art time & social battery is limited, I'm still learning how to balance my time management.

Going to take baby steps for askblogging again: I'll probably make more writing posts with splash art on this blog too.

Juggling both this blog and @sonder-palms, though I have a bit more motivation for sonder atm.

I appreciate having this community to come back to no matter how long it's been, it makes me happy to see you guys working on your askblogs and vibing even when I'm inactive.

Since this blog started, I feel like I've grown a lot as a person for the better and I'm grateful to have this community to share silly characters and stories with. It genuinely means a lot 💖

Why I've been Inactive

So as a lot of you probably know, scuba diving's been a big thing for me.

I've seen so many cool things and met so many cool people, it's genuinely been so enriching and humbling. Especially as someone very introverted, I've had to step out of my comfort zone a lot. Diving makes me so happy, it makes me feel like I'm going on adventures. I've been working on certifications and on improving my skills with in that realm. I'd wanted to do this since I was in kindergarten and it's definitely something I'm going to keep doing the rest of my life.

I've also been working on my physical health for some years now, that's been really important to me and I have a schedule that I've been trying to keep to.

That being said, these things also take a lot of time and energy out of me as someone that needs fair rest periods lol. I feel like I've been pretty art-starved in that I haven't been able to draw as much as I want/need, personal art time wins 95% of the time when I do have the time. So I feel like I haven't been able to interact with you guys as much as I want, and I miss that.

I've also been falling in love with violins lmao.

Plans for Askblogging

I'm going to try to send asks from both this blog and @sonder-palms. I've had new refs on the back burner for a while, that's just going to happen when it can happen or else I'll keep procrastinating on step 2.

(Need to take care of other art obligations first)

Baby steps by sending asks to other blogs again (will make a general ask call post)

Do interactions from sent asks

Send out the rest of the Nightmare Wave ask poems

Attend the Magi Event

Normalize written posts more- I've enjoyed them a lot with RPing more, my progress is more efficient that way.

The rusting wagon groaned tirelessly as its wheels dragged over the sand. Bayani was already sweating under the sun as they pulled, and a totodile with a frigibax sail helped push the wagon from behind. Inside the wagon was a messy arrangement of scuba equipment, some of the hoses wrapped around other parts like a confused ekans.

As they passed other beach-goers, a radius of cool air enveloped them. It was a chill brought by the little gator, though it was only momentary relief from the heat for those who ceased to be close by.

“Almost there!” Bay looked back and smirked at the totodile hybrid, “I can’t believe no one noticed me leaving with all this stuff.”

Once close to the shore, the human child and totodile-frigibax begun unloading the scuba equipment onto the sand. Bayani grunted as he struggled to pull the tank, but was relieved with his Pokémon’s help. The two chattered to one another as Bay worked on assembling the gear.

Continuation from this post - Part 2/2

"I know how to put my equipment together I've done it like a hundred times!"

[ In truth Bayani hadn't even dove that many times, and often times he'd gotten help from an adult for his equipment. Bayani huffed at Aaliyah, offended. He didn’t need the rangers to tell him what to do, his mom had told him how well he’d done in some of their previous dives. What party poopers. He turned to Yamilet.]

“Mom’s not going to be here for a month, I want to go now! I don’t have anyone else to dive with right now, a month is FOREVER."

[ He swept an arm behind himself, feeling for the string that connected to his wetsuit's zipper. While he talked, he worked to pull up it on his own, his elbows lifting above his head in doing so as the familiar zziiiiiiip climbed up.]

"And besides, Nawa’s bandana got lost in the water, so we’re going to look.”

[ Nawa's tail twitched anticipatory as she watched the humans go back and forth. Things had quickly gone from fun and exciting, to uncertain. She awkwardly scratched her bare neck as Bay continued on. ]

"Don't tell Ariel either, it's not even that deep! There's a coral reef right there!"
