Almost Losing runningpinoy.com, Again!
With so many things that already happened, 2020 has yet run out of “surprises” for me. Just yesterday, I came really close to losing my domain registration of runningpinoy.com! No thanks to my bank that did not do their obligation.
The primary reason that I still keep spending my own money annually to maintain ownership of runningpinoy.com despite not really earning monetarily is to prevent…

Impromptu Upgrade
After years of settling for my barely “good enough” internet service provider, I finally got an upgrade —a significant one that I won’t even be able to maximize it even if I stream two 4K videos simultaneously all the time!
The pandemic really highlighted how poor the internet infrastructure is in the Philippines and I really felt it’s significant impact when the lockdown started and many…

Bad Service of Globe/BayanTel Internet Connection (to the highest level)
Tonight as I’m writing this our home in Pinas don’t have internet connection parin. We are complaining for almost two weeks now. Recent months every now and then nawawalan na sila ng internet sa bahay.
I messaged them thru my Twitter account.
Ang sabi ng support may pupunta sa bahay na technician between 1 and 8PM to check, that a Job Order has been made. Inantay… walang dumating.
Ang sagot ng Globe may dumating daw but there’s refusal of entry.
Nagagalit nako dahil we are paying for this bullshit na hindi naman nagagamit.
I am ranting on social media to express our experience contacting Globe and BayanTel.
“Dear Globe, wala pong dumating na technician on the said date. Paano po nangyari ang there’s refusal of entry? Up until now they don’t have internet at home. We think MODEM po ang may sira dito because walang ilaw ang DSL, Internet at Ethernet. Please kindly help us to fix or replace your not working modem. You said all your connections are okay hindi po sila makagamit ng internet dahil sira ang medium. I’m wasting so much time reaching you guys, please help us and do your job to settle our complain. We are paying our hard earned money for the bills that gives us so much inconvenience. Hope to get this fix as soon as possible.”
Please… Paki-ayos po ang serbisyo ninyo dahil sobrang apektado po kami dito. Nasa kolehiyo ang kapatid namin and he needs internet connection. We are messaging our family daily and now because we don’t have connection it’s hard for us to communicate. At the end of the day we are paying the bills we don’t use.
Please do your job to make sure everything is working properly.
Dear #Bayantel, we were unable to use Internet at home for more than a week. What's going on? We are paying for your internet service! Hope you will do something about this problem immediately. @AskBayan @talk2GLOBE

Telcos to NTC: No minimum 'Net standards for now, let's measure speed privately
Telcos to NTC: No minimum ‘Net standards for now, let’s measure speed privately
By Carlos Nazareno
In a position paper dated last June 24, the Philippine Chamber of Telecommunications Operators (PCTO) and the Philippine Association of Private Telecommunications Companies (PAPTELCO) made known their stand to regulatory body National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) that while its members finally agreed to have some performance metrics measured such as upstream and…
