FINAL 2 BABY, HERE WE GO!
if Jackie or Becky don't win buyback i will stop watching : ) : ) : )
Johnny Mac & “horrible” game play.
You didn’t expect me to go a whole half a season without a long rant that probably won’t be read by anyone, did you? Here we go. So look, I like Jackie/James/Meg and then Julia as much as the next person. And obviously Johnny Mac is my favorite but this is completely unbiased:
Why are you all so surprised that John’s thrown those names out as his targets?
He was throwing Jason, James and Meg out to Clay since before Jason when home. He had no game with them and they’re actually a very strong unit. If they weren’t, they wouldn’t be in the position of power that they are this week. Yes they’re weaker than the sixth sense but they are still a unit. Units need to be broken whether it’s sooner or later. And don’t act like they all three haven’t been throwing his name out. Jason told Clelli that John said he would go after them in DE (not true). Meg and James keep saying they can’t let him slide through the cracks and float his way to the top. So yes them being gone would be beneficial to him. They’re SMARTER than Clelli in that sense. If you’re John, you want to work with people like Clelli who look at big targets rather than floaters. He’s a super fan and his strategy is to play dumb, so that the actual dumb players will continue to let him rise to the top.
Jackie makes COMPLETE SENSE. When James won HOH, he panicked a little bit and was trying to save face with “the other side.” He stupidly admitted to her that he was planning on targeting their side because he had no game with them and he did have game with Clelli but during that conversation he also said that they make decisions while he sleeps and gave off the impression that he’s not all that happy with them. They squashed whatever beef was between them, and I really don’t think Jackie is targeting him at all but it makes sense why he would kick himself for giving her that info and wanting her gone for now knowing it.
And then there’s Julia, one half of the twins. First off, Julia has straight up said she will put him up and is only flirting with him as a game strategy. He’s smart to think she’s against him and see through that. Plus that’s a move everyone is afraid to make right now. No one wants to put the Austwins up because in their eyes that’s three votes/numbers right there. You get rid of one and two are coming after you. Everyone wants it done but no one wants it on their hands. But someone has to do it.
^^^ Assuming he’s telling the truth with all of these being his targets, I think that it’s completely reasonable. It’s not AMAZING GAMEPLAY but it’s not stupid either. You all are only calling it stupid because James/Jackie/Meg are all fan favorite underdogs and Julia is the better half of the twins so everyone loves her.
Everyone claiming that he should just “join the other side,” is quite stupid. Easier said then done. They don’t want him on their side, at all. I would love that alliance and it makes sense in theory, but James/Meg/Jackie (more so James and Meg -- Jackie is much more in tune to what’s happening) can be very naive. They seem to forget that they don’t have numbers. Recruiting John is their best bet, but they don’t see that. They could have gotten his vote for Jason last week by telling him that people are seeing him and Becky as “a couple,” but they were too focused on flipping Clelli so instead they threw him under. Of course he wants them out.
VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION: His strategy according to his brother, is to make friends with people and stab them in the back. I fully believe based on his DRs about coming after the people who’ve used him as a pawn, that he was planning to go with Clelli far into this game and then stab them in the back. Their demise is probably something he wanted, but not nearly this soon. So that’s what I have to say to people who are calling him their bitch.
And one MORE thing, it DOES make sense that Steve is expendable to him. He said in preseason interviews that the reason he’s pretending not to be a super fan is because super fans are threatening and he doesn’t want to work with them. He wants to work with recruits who don’t know much, AKA Clelli and Becky. Another reason why I understand him voting out/wanting to go after Jason. But I do believe that clinging to Steve NOW at this point, would be a good thing for him to do.
Now getting into this theory that he’s a master strategist (which was what everyone thought at the beginning of the season, but it’s now being deemed as a wrong assumption):
I don’t know if he is. The DR this season is slacking on strategy. They barely talk game with any houseguests and with Jmac they only seem to want him in there for his silliness/entertainment. I have no idea what’s happening in his head and he’s quiet too. He doesn’t let anyone know his plans beyond throwing one or two names out without any intelligent plans of attack. Not having won any HOH’s or vetoes as a non-nominated houseguest, that’s not all that threatening. But if he is smarter than smart and what everyone hoped for him to be:
He’s throwing Jackie’s name out because it’s convenient. The Austwins + Vanessa + the remaining half of Clelli will like that because he’s not saying a name that they aren’t saying too. He knows how to tell people what they want to hear.
He’s throwing out Julia’s name because he thinks the “other side” is, as I said above, afraid to make that move but whatever doesn’t target them specifically is okay.
And finally... I may be the only person to theorize this and it could very well be complete crap. But here it is: His actual target is...drumroll please....Vanessa!!! Now obviously Vanessa is smart and has been targeting Johnny Mac HARD the last week or so. But none of it has gotten back to him, so why would he be targeting her you ask? My only reason for thinking it is because he has always said, since Audrey was still in the game, that she is too emotional. He’s planted these seeds with Clay and Shelli. He’s constantly planting them with the other side too. He casually mentioned to James that Austin and Vanessa are the only two people not nominated. Plus, again, he said in his DRs that he wants to go after people who used him as a pawn. If this is his real target, of course he’s not going to say it. He would recognize how good she is and how she has deals with everyone. It wouldn’t be safe to say those words to Clelli, to the Austwins, not even to the other side because if Vanessa wins HOH they would tell her right away that Johnny Mac is after her and give her MORE ammo to nominate or backdoor him.
Again-- the theory is just a theory. He could very well be a dud. Who the fuck knows what’s in his brain? But I have some serious hope. Keep it alive, people!
fr if Johnny Mac goes home this week I'm done watching
John’s appearance: white people’s bland chicken John’s personality: a medium well slice of the finest ribeye on the market, seasoned with garlic and onion, crusted in Parmesan and seared with a delicious red wine reduction sauce
I want John to eat a macaroon so I can officially call him Johnny Mac(aroon)
The only people who hate John and Steve are those whose faves are flopping. Like John and Steve have removed themselves off the block both times nominated and are also some of the LEAST problematic in the house. Like Steve literally saved drunk girls from being taken advantage but yall hating on what? Jealousy is a bad look.
Yall… cannot seriously think John is attractive? Personality wise yes but actual physical features he looks like a missing member of the Cullen's family… come on now yall…
