Taking a quick break from work to say that my fav hc is that Rob always used invasion of personal space as an intimidation tactic BUT it never worked on Stone. Overtime he finds himself actually liking that he could stand so close to someone who isn't afraid of him...

..until eventually he starts leaning down (or looking up!) to Stone's level, actually taking the time to explain his thought processes which he'd NEVER do to anyone else. Something about the unflinching way Stone received and matched him told Rob that he was a keeper. ☺️

And as a bonus, Stone is the first one in a long while Rob trusted to enter HIS personal space AND beyond it, because he finds out that Stone could be very unpredictable when he wants to be, but Rob secretly enjoys not knowing what Stone would do in his stead.

And so Rob lets Stone into his space not only because Stone's the only one capable of doing so (in Rob's eyes), but also because he's the only one worthy of it.

They're syco-friends, after all.

I suppose most people are more familiar with pet dogs than with falconry and therefore calling a dehumanized mech pilot a "hound" is more immediately evocative than calling it a "hawk," but you gotta admit the vibe of the handler as falconer and the pilots as their birds of prey absolutely slaps. If anyone ever does something like mechsploitation but with scifi fighter jets instead of giant robots, pleeeease call the pilots hawks

It's amazing how I read a Shakespeare play and I'm like sure I guess this is kinda clever but then I see one performed by a cast who really get it and ohhhh fuck. Holy fucking fuck. Yeah ok this really is That Good. I see why Shakespeare is such a big deal even today. Fuck.
