BBAU 2012
Watching big brother australia 2012 (don't judge) and I'm on the nom nom episode where George used the super power and saved Angie instead of himself by accident and I know he's leaving soon and if it's this week I'll be upset because I don't like Estelle or Bradley so if they stay over him I just won't function
So What Next?
So; the show has ended!
Where to next?
Some observations first.
Who ever runs the show next series is unlikely to move away from the family friendly format, as there is the quantity of viewers enough to pay for the show. If indeed it does return?
A recent; chat with a media teacher who is really into the idea of TV as a cultural medium, speculated that of this years crop of misfits, the amount who had a marketing/publicity background was quite high. He also speculated that they were directly recruited to be in the show.
If this is indeed true; then it would explain the behaviour of people like Michael, Stacey and Benjamin.
This alters my reaction to the show quite dramatically, and somewhat cynically. I hope the show returns to tis roots and uses a formula closer to the original.
So this it for the year, who knows what will turn up next year?
Wow, how they ended Big Brother this year was amazing. We've come so far as a country when I can sit on my couch and watch a man propose to his boyfriend on national television, during the finale of the most watched program in Australia. It was so beautiful to see that I kinda got tears in my eyes and I couldn't stop smiling... Yeah, it was really nice. I'm proud of you, Channel Nine.
