And another one for hurt/comfort bingo. Last Atlantis one for now.
This one is titled 'Reluctant Adventurer', and is for the āHomesicknessā prompt.
To be honest, Icarus had never intended to leave the city with them that night. He had intended to try to help them escape, and then, assuming he survived, he was going to go home and lay low for a while. But instead he found himself being dragged along with Pythagoras and his mission; him the unworthy one, the reluctant hero and adventurer.
Now, from the relative safety of the ship, the fact that he never properly said goodbye to his father is something that plays on Icarus' mind on the long nights out at sea.

I have two questions:
What was the point of Jason coming from the future? Couldnāt he just be a amnesic dude from another greek city?
Does Daedalus know Icarus survived? He might have see him fall. Icarus went away with Pythagoras and co, but does Daedalus knows his son survived the city attacka and fall and that he is alive and well??? Maybe he doesnāt and, in this universe, this is where the myth of Icarusā death comes from.

Atlantis 2x12 || Icarus & Daedalus (x)
I wish Icarus didnāt do what he did but I completely understand why he did it.Ā
His father was going to die if he didnāt do something. Iām not surprised his fatherās life is considered more important than his loverās life. Iām not saying he doesnāt love Pythagoras, he obviously did otherwise he wouldnāt have just risked his life helping him. And those glances, hugs and unnecessary touches just screamĀ āI LOVE YOU!ā Thing is, no matter what faults Daedalus has, he did raise Icarus. Heās Icarusā father so of course his father is no1 in his life.
I personally think Pythagoras would understand. After all, he does trust Melas despite not knowing Melasā reasoning and assuming Melas is a traitor because he can be. We know Pythagoras and Icarus have a very strong friendship (read: romantic relationship) and something like this will hurt Pythagoras but wonāt ruin their love forever. I do believe it will hurt Pythagoras but heās Pythagoras. Heās rational enough to understand Icarusā intentions (eventually).
Iām really scared about the angst though. Itās going to kill me, I know.
I am angry with the writers for doing this AGAIN. Itās such a cheap trick. These betrayals donāt mean anything to me anymore. Why canāt someone befriend the main 4 without ending up betraying them at some point or other? Please stop making everyone betray the main 4 so often. This isnāt realistic of Greek Mythology and the epic tradition. Yes there was A LOT of betrayals but not this many. Maybe just for once Iād love to see someone who isnāt the main 4 being so loyal to the main 4 that it puts Penelope of Ithaca to shame.
Pythagoras, sweetie, is there something you wanna tell us about exactly how much time youāve been spending at Daedalusā house?
