UNIVERSITY CHALLENGE BAYBEEE
I'm gonna be on University Flippin' Challenge!
Tune into BBC2 at 20:30 on New Year's Eve to catch me representing my alma mater St Andrews in the Celebrity Christmas Special!
It'll be available on iPlayer afterwards too!
-------------- TRANSLATION FOR BAFFLED AMERICANS ------------------
University Challenge is a quiz show on the BBC, it's been going since 1962 and it's a British institution. Viewing figures are usually measured in the millions and it's a huge honour to be invited on. It's famously super difficult. There's no prize money and after I'd paid my makeup artist and manager I was actually down fifty quid lmao; you do it purely for the love of the game
Mackenzie Crook | Small Prophets (2026)
This was so weird and wonderful. If you live outside the U.K., you'll need to be patient (or very determined, as was I) to watch it.

I do not find worthiness in virtue
I no longer try to be good
It didn’t keep me safe
Like you told me that it would

If you were a fan of Wallace & Gromit during Christmas 1995, then BBC2 was the place to be, as the channel's Christmas idents that year were Wallace & Gromit-themed to celebrate the release of the duo's third short film, A Close Shave, which premiered on the channel on Christmas Eve. In addition, the duo's two previous films, A Grand Day Out and The Wrong Trousers, were also given repeat broadcasts; The Wrong Trousers on December 27th and A Grand Day Out on the 28th. My grandparents taped those broadcasts and I can remember watching them to my heart's content.
