Beast Boy x Raven Headcanons Please!?
1. Raven was the first of the pair to develop romantic feelings and she was immediately aware of them.
Beast Boy developed his feelings later on, but even then, it took him a while to realize he loved Raven as more than just a friend. But once he did, he immediately acted on said feelings; which was for the best, Raven despite being aware of both of their feelings wasn’t going to do anything.
2. The two are an extremely private couple, hell, their relationship wasn’t even discovered until several months after they got together. Discovered being the key word, they didn’t tell anyone – they were found out.
This is largely due to Raven’s strong dislike of her private life being open to others (to put it mildly). Beast Boy went along, because Raven being comfortable and happy in their relationship was obviously very important to him.
But to his surprise, he actually discovered how much he liked that their relationship was just between the two of them. Something private he didn’t have to share with others. In his past relationships everything was very public, largely because he was dating other actors/celebrities, even with Terra, everyone in the Tower pretty much knew their business.
2.5 As the years have gone on, they have become more affectionate in public. Raven openly shows her love for Beast Boy in public – often by hugging him or simply curling next to him on the couch. They’re never going to be as affectionate to one another in public as they are when they’re alone.
3. In general, the two tend to be pretty casual when it comes to their relationship. Their friendship being the foundation of their relationship, basically shaped their entire dynamic as a couple – meaning they still tease and openly mock the other. The fact that nothing noticeably changed within their friendship when they started to date, is actually what allowed them to keep it a secret for so long.
3.5 Since they started to date, though, they’ve actually started to tease and joke about other people, working as one mocking unit.
4. Much to the frustration of the others neither are great at remembering their anniversary.
Raven doesn’t remember the actual date and she doesn’t care to; she finds the whole thing rather ridiculous. Why should one day be given so much time and attention over all the other days of her relationship? She will only do the anniversary stuff if Beast Boy wants to.
Beast Boy cares a bit more than Raven, but honestly that’s because he’s just always presumed that celebrating one’s anniversary is what you’re supposed to do when you’re in a relationship. Technically he does remember the day…or more accurately his legions of fan on Twitter and Instagram wish him and Raven a happy anniversary on said day - prompting him into action.
4.5 The day they “celebrate” or the day that is known as their anniversary is not actually the date they got together. Beast Boy arbitrarily picked a date, to prove to the others that he of course knew the date of his anniversary with Raven.
Raven not knowing the actual date herself, just went with it. Also because she didn’t like the others judging Beast Boy for not knowing a specific date, that doesn’t actually matter in the grand scheme of things.
5. Beast Boy gets very jealous when someone else, no matter who it is, is able to make Raven audibly laugh out loud. Getting Raven to laugh openly his something he is more than just proud of and he doesn’t like it when someone else can do it.
6. Household Chores: Beast Boy cooks and Raven cleans.
7. Pets: Raven 100% refers to them as Beast Boy’s pets and will often state that she wants nothing to do with them…that’s of course is a big fat lie. Raven spoils all of their pets to an insane degree.
I personally want them to have a Green Alien Dog, that people often mistake for Beast Boy, but quickly learn it’s not him once they interact with it. The dog has a gelatinous form and can fit into any crack or small opening and it can make a very high pitch (and painful) sound.
8. Raven is fiercely protective of her relationship with Beast Boy, it being one of the few normal (or normal for Raven) life experiences she’s gotten to have. While Raven never thought she would get to have so many of the things she currently does have, a relationship was always out of the picture – even when she dared to dream of a life without Trigon.
9. Both seem to have the uncanny ability to be able to order for the other and get exactly what they wanted, without even asking (in terms of food/drinks).
10. Beast Boy and Raven tell each other pretty much everything - telling one of them a secret is essentially the same thing as telling the other. Though Raven is overall more reseptful in terms of other people’s secret.
Basically --- If Beast Boy knows than Raven absolutely knows and if Raven knows, then there’s a pretty good chance that Beast Boy also knows.
