Carpe Diem - mccallofthewild
"Daddy, Daddy wake up!" Felix jumped up and down on the bed, before pouncing on Scott, who groaned at the sudden pressure in his side as an excited hybrid prodded his cheek over and over. "Wake up wake up wake up wake up wake up!" He cheered.
"Felix!" Scott groaned, pulling the blanket over his head and attempting to hide from his pup, "What is it?"
"Momma says get up, breakfast!" Felix crowed before bouncing off the bed and skittering down the hall. Only now did Scott realize that the familiar warmth of Michael at his side was absent.
"I'm up!" Scott called, "I'm up." he said quieter as he pulled the covers off his body. The cold assaulted his skin and caused little goosebumps. He scratched his tummy groggily and stretched, giving a soft yawn.
"Damn these Canadian winters." he grumbled as he pulled a t-shirt over his head. Giving a quick look in the mirror he smiled at the wolf print pajama pants that he'd gotten for christmas that year from Michael.
Walking down the stairs, Scott was greeted by the scent of bacon, ham, hashbrowns and eggs. A grin appeared on his face as he remembered something he'd said a few years ago.
"Gonna make me a fat werewolf." He mused as he slipped behind his mate, wrapping his arms around MIchael and kissing his neck softly. "Mornin' Babe." he whispered.
Michael grinned and playfully swatted Scott's sneakily roaming hands. "Good morning to you too, Mr. Wolf." he purred. "How did you sleep?" He asked, flipping the hashbrowns.
"Perfectly, thank you." Scott mumbled. "How long've you been up?" he asked a little concernededly.
"Since six." Michael sighed, "Phineas woke me up, he had a bad dream." he mumbled.
"Poor guy." Scott whispered, "How's he doing now?"
"He's fine, eagerly awaiting you to wake up and take them out." He chuckled. "I told him to wait until after breakfast."
"What's Felix got on the agenda today?" Scott asked, his hands resting on Michael's stomach, holding him close as the katze finished breakfast.
"He's giving options today." Michael chuckled and started serving up plates. "He wants to either make a snow fort or go to the winter carnival--but it's the first day so it'll be crowded." he warned Scott.
"Hmm, I wonder which of us can build a better fort?" Scott teased.
"Phineas!" Michael suddenly shouted, turning his head to look at his littlest pup. "You up for a contest outside today?" He asked.
"What kind of contest?" Phineas wondered, holding his coloring book close.
"We're gonna beat Daddy at building snow forts." Michael grinned, turning his head to kiss Scott's nose.
"Sure!" Phineas beamed, hopping up and down before running to the dining room, calling his older brother.
"You're so on." Scott grinned, kissing Michael softly. "This vacation was a perfect idea." He kissed him once more and nuzzled into his mate's neck.
"I'm glad you think so." Michael purred, "I'm just glad Eric let us stay for winter break. See? We Canadians are very understanding." he chuckled.
"I was more worried for the pups than I was the locals." Scott admitted.
"Eric knows all about Felix and Phineas, you know I had to be upfront. We're guests, if we hid them we wouldn't be as welcome." he sighed.
"Werewolf politics." Scott grumbled.
"It's an art." Michael laughed. "Go sit down and we'll get on the rules for our little contest."
"Love you." Scott told him as he drew his hand across the male's lower back.
"Love you too, you silly wolf."
"I'll make you eat those words, kitten."
They both laughed softly and exchanged one more kiss before Scott followed in his son's significantly smaller footsteps and went to the dining room.
Michael sighed contently at their little domestic home life and started serving everyone.
"Ready? Aim.. Fire!" Felix called out as he started tossing premade snowballs at his baby brother and momma.
"Cover me!" Scott called over his shoulder as he started towards Phineas' snow fort.
Michael grinned as he picked up a box just as Scott came into view, tossing the contents in Scott's face the moment he started throwing snowballs at him and Phineas. Scott sputtered at the faceful of snow he just got, throwing his last snowball and turning tail.
"R-Retreat!" He called, diving over the fort's wall and making more snowballs.
Phinease and Michael high fived eachother and started throwing their own snow balls.
They had a great fourty five minutes before everyone was soaked to the bone with snow and water. After everyone had had enough they filed inside, Michael putting a kettle on to make hot chocolate. After everyone had been changed out of their clothes and put into warmer, dryer ones, they put on a movie and all cuddled on the couch sipping hot chocolate while watching Phineas' current favorite movie, Tangled, a rather old one but still a good one.
"Perfect." Michael mumbled as he leaned his head on Scott's shoulder, beginning to fall asleep.
"What?" Scott asked groggily, nuzzling his mate softly.
"Everything's perfect." he whispered, smiling as he tugged one of his little ones close.
Scott smiled and closed his eyes, pulling the other pup close and smiling.
