About a year and a half ago, I got some 1:6 scale candy house replicas made by BC Mini. I ripped the frosting off the brown house because I found the decoration too tacky for my taste. The roofless house proceeded to sit around on my desk for about 18 months. Then I gave it a replacement roof made from sliced-up Iwako knock-off erasers. The candy houses now form a centerpiece of my Rement display case in my sweet shop!
BC Mini cake and candy house keyrings
Do your small populations need some totally blinged out desserts of questionable aesthetic value? Look no further. BC Mini, purveyor of Japanese novelty erasers, keychains, squishy food replicas, and other necessary things, sells overdecorated circular cakes and candy houses, perfect for all your small-scale baking competitions.
Pic 1: Well. Those are really… something, all right. Cake and house plastic is rubbery; icing plastic is softer. Everything is solidly glued together, except for the decorative balls on the house closest to the camera. Cake is ~4cm in diameter and 3cm high at peak of toppings. Houses are 4x2x4cm. Both types come in several color schemes with various fruits and decorations, as well as easily removable keyrings. Basket and cake stand are by Rement and not included.
Pic 2: As you can see, they work pretty well for 1:6 scale. They’re also tacky as hell. I consider this a feature, not a bug.
Pic 3: The Master shows off his latest in edible architecture to Alison, who thinks it looks delicious.
Pic 4: The Doctor asks Bill to help them with the cake they just got. Bill can’t believe her luck. [She puts her hands in her hair like that when she’s excited.]
Pic 5: Packaging in case you want to keep a look out for them on your own.
