It was a pleasure working with avide-reader for this round of the @bottomcasbigbang! I was drawn to the story being set in a "canon-adjacent" Men of Letters universe, with a variety of characters I could include in my art. For the title/banner piece, I was inspired by the Men of Letters Bestiary book and wanted to do something in a similar style. I knew that would mean doing a bunch of individual portraits of as many characters as I could, so...I got to work whenever I had the chance these past few months! I did these all on my little 5.75" tondo watercolor block from Magnani; the paper has a kind of unique feel which lended itself to the style I wanted as well.
For the cover I included them only in black and white, but here they all are in full color (and without the fancy borders I added for including in the story text). I had a lot of fun working on visualizing each of them as they appear in the story: Cas, Dean, Charlie, Sam and Abaddon.
I also did this piece of Cas in the Men of Letters bunker kitchen from a scene early on in the story, as it was one of the first images that struck me when reading the draft of the fic.
