ATTENTION BLUE COLLAR GLEE RPG MEMBERS!

I believe that it has come to all of our attentions that things at Blue Collar Glee RPG have been shifting this New Year. It has almost been a full year since we’ve begun the stories of our lovely Piggly Wiggly employees and, if you ask me, I think it’s time for a change. This move has been being planned for months and after some conversations between myself and our members I have finally come up with the best possible solution for how to implement everything and begin anew in this twist.

Thus, I give you Blue Collar Takes Manhattan. Our characters, our stories -- everything will be moving over to the City that Never Sleeps to create even more twists and turns for everyone involved. To help everyone with the adjustment period, the physical move will also jump ahead one year in time. “But Bee, how will we know what will be happening in a year?,” you may ask. It may seem a little crazy, but we are simply going to revise our own past year as if it were a year earlier than real life -- that way we will stay with current events and not have to predict the futures of our political, economic, social climate. This retcon will officially begin on May 5th, 2017 -- a full year that we have been playing this game OOC. However, in the game it will still be May 5th, 2017, making the events of the past year actually 2015-2016. (If none of this makes sense then please message me and I will do my best to explain it better)

With this new plot will come a new main page and everything. It is currently under construction, but will be launched shortly before the Retcon to ensure that everyone can be up to date. Now comes to the part where all of you, my lovely members, are involved. 

With this new move will come new characters and perhaps a loss of a few of the ones we’ve had this far. 

Our endgames will remain intact only if BOTH parties still want to continue the ship -- otherwise a new one will be established based off of suggestions from you. 

All previous biographies will remain intact, but you will be able to add to it based off of the events that came about in Lima. 

If you would like to change your characters for any reason, please inform me via message/IM/Skype and we will discuss how that will take place -- you will also see a spot about that on the form that I have created for the move

Speaking of said form: I have created this small form that I would like you to fill out whether or not you would like to resume play after the move. The final date of acceptance for this form is Friday, April 21st, 2017. Please submit it to the main page and let me know if you have any questions about anything listed.

Once I have everyone’s forms submitted to the main page, I will then work with each of you based upon what you have submitted to adjust the biographies/ships/characters to a compromise. The same accounts may be used for before and after the move, thus once you have been confirmed and your biography has been deleted or updated then you may begin to alter it into whomever your character will be in New York as of May 5th, 2017. Depending on members leaving/changing characters we will also be having auditions accepted for new characters/characters that have been changed from in the two weeks between when forms are due and the restart of the game -- stay tuned.

I hope that all of this makes sense and makes you all very excited. I know that I can’t wait to see what this new chapter can bring for everyone and the journey that we could all take together while Blue Collar Takes Manhattan! During this month-long interim, the dashboard will officially be in a full Hiatus -- including the main page, though I will still be around for messages.

Good morning, members of Blue Collar Glee RPG!

This is Admin Bee coming at you to run by some updates for the beginning of the year! Since there are quite a few, I’ve made them into this one post rather than many separate posts to make it easier on myself (because that would mean making at least four more graphics), and easier on any of you so that you can refer to one post rather than go on a search for the right one! That being said, let’s just jump right into it as we have a lot to cover!

New Year’s Eve Event

Thank you to everyone who participated in the New Year’s Eve event that we had here at Blue Collar! The event is officially over and I could not have been happier with the turn out and who was able to use it for so many different things! Please be on the look-out for the next dashwide event that will most likely be planned in another month or so, perhaps right around Valentine’s Day -- excluding possible suggestions from members in the future (which are always accepted to be heard about!)

Holiday Activity

Now that we have officially ended the holiday season (happiest of New Year wishes from me to you), we will now be merging back into the standard activity watch for the group! That means that everyone’s history will be erased today and starting from the moment this post is marked will be the new counter. As always, there is a three-day activity warning given at the end of the third day and the player would then have 24-hours to contact an Admin or resume posting (queued posts/photos/music/etc. does not count as resuming play). Please refer to the Activity Page for any questions about requesting a hiatus/semi-hiatus! As a merit of goodwill, please like this post to ensure that you’ve read up until this point, and please continue to do so! I will be taking this post seriously as we are coming out of an activity-sensitive time with the holidays and I want to make sure that everyone is on board!

Upcoming Events

While we may not have a dashwide event planned for the near future, there are two events on the horizon (sort of) that I would like to mention! The first is going to be a New Year’s Writing Challenge! That’s right. I will be pairing everyone up and you will be required to do the following:

With your selected partner(s), you must write up a para via Chatzy (for the sake of organizing and keeping the dashboard organized) that is inspired by the following prompt: It’s a New Year! It’s the best time of year to start over and have a million more firsts. Write about a past first, the first time that Character A met Character B (and Character C, for one)!

The pairings will be as such:

The second, actual event will be that Lima Community Theatre will be putting on a Spring musical! That means that I need YOUR help to decide what it will be. Then, depending on the characters that show interest, we will all decide as a group how the cast list will end up (with a few surprises from your Admin, of course!).

Month-aversary!

Though I technically began this endeavor a year ago today, I took a few months off from putting the accelerator down on this RP because of my personal life. That being said, this month on the 20th will mark our nine month anniversary of Blue Collar Glee RPG and I cannot express how incredibly honored and happy that makes me. I am so proud of everyone who has been involved in this journey from beginning to middle and with no end in sight! This has been a treasure of mine and you all have been such bright lights and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for us. Thank you for nine months of beautiful work, now let’s work on nine more...(okay, eight and a half, whatever).

Good morning, members of Blue Collar!

The New Year’s Eve event for Blue Collar Glee RPG is officially underway! Please be sure to pause all previous dashboard conversations UNLESS they are text messages/private messages that can easily be maneuvered to be used for the event (previous paras/F2Fs are also an exception as long as they are properly backdated!). I apologize for not posting this sooner as my personal life has taken on a busier note as of late and I need to adjust to the scheduling a little bit better. However, we will extend the event for my missteps to be from today, December 31st at 1:00 P.M. EST until Monday, January 2nd at 6:00 P.M. EST! Please be sure to tag all posts for the event with #bcgrpg2017 so that they are easier to keep track of!

The New Year’s Eve Ball is being held at the Lima Community Center’s main ballroom and is a black-tie affair that opens its doors at 8:00 P.M.. The event is catered with plenty of drinks and snacks, and a main dinner will be served around 9:00 P.M., and will include a vegetarian option. A D.J. has been hired for the night and will be taking requests, and the tables for dinner are first-come, first-serve that surround the dance floor. Bryan Ryan has been careful in making sure that everyone in attendance will be carrying into the New Year in style. Throughout the night, Tracy Canterbury may drop by to various people to get statements about the evening, so make sure to be on the look-out in case you want your evening to be Q&A-free! Any questions can be directed to the main page.

Good evening members of Blue Collar Glee RPG!

I apologize for the main page being a little silent lately. The Admins are hard at work to figure out the next big step, and while we’re doing that we’re also trying to think of fun character development tasks that could be given while we’re in this moment of adjusting from the last plot drop as well as while we welcome our new members into the verse! I want to encourage everyone to continue to plot and plan with each other and to not be afraid to keep this dash moving with ideas that you have. 

We have a few members who have become a little busier in their lives and I know that seeing the dash move only a little bit each day can be discouraging, but I want to do the opposite of that! If you don’t see new starters, new posts, replies, or whatever then please feel free to make up your own! Post some inner thoughts, a diary entry, or maybe just some posts on Twitter or Instagram. All of these are great chances to discover more about your characters. Message characters IC to make plans, or even OOC to get some behind-the-scenes information! 

Basically, what I’m trying to say is that this world is an opportunity for you to take chances and to push yourselves and I am highly encouraging every member of this group to push themselves a little more heading into the weekend. We have some super exciting stuff coming up and I don’t want our dash events/plot drops to be the only time that you can find to make your characters shine.

Hello members of Blue Collar!

This is Admin Kay just popping in to do a little bit of housekeeping to make sure everyone is on the same page. Before I get into the boring stuff, both admins really hope that you’re all enjoying the plots we have stirred up for this month and we want to extend a huge thank you to those who have embraced everything we’ve been putting out there!! You guys are doing an amazing job and we cannot be more thankful! All of that being said, here are a few announcements.

First, we’d like to address activity standings:

All hiatus requests have expired as of today, September 9th, therefore anyone who was on a hiatus must fill out a new form if they’re still in need of time off. Those who were previously on a hiatus are again subjected to the standard activity rules. No one is currently in danger of being removed for activity, however, remember to keep track of how many days it has been since you have posted as a few people are nearing that three day mark.

Secondly, let’s talk about active participation:

Mostly everyone is doing a great job at making sure their character is an active participant in dashboard conversations, but we’d still like to point out the importance of replying to starters, sparking conversations, and interacting with every character realistically possible. These things encourage development and growth within our roleplay which is super important for keeping us strong!

And finally, an unfollow notice:

Right now we are not reopening Marley for auditions. In the coming days a few changes are going to be made to some biographies that will reflect changes in endgame ships. Obviously taken characters, with the exception of Sam Evans, will not be affected by these changes at this time.

Hello, members of Blue Collar Glee RPG!

This is Admin Bee coming at you with a Sunday Survey! Yay! This weekend will be when I release the next one for Employee of the Month/Player of the Month, so watch for that to be released on Friday, BUT this one is to help Admin Kay and I generate ideas for the rest of the summer and, of course, whatever follows. As we get more and more into this verse and closer with each other I would really like to see the plotting beginning to interweave more and so I am hoping to think of some plots that might be able to build that. It is possible that Admin Kay and I will approach separate players about separate plots that will either be open to the public to know or might be kept secret until it’s time to unravel. There also might be events that are public knowledge right away, such as the Open Mic Night and the failing business arc that is currently in play.

Thus, I have generated this survey that should help us to know where the barriers are for our members! The last thing that I want to do is make anyone in this group uncomfortable and insecure about logging on, and so the first page of the survey is to help with that. I have listed a few Mature Themes that have been found around RPGs and listed them. I would like all of you to check the ones that you are not comfortable with seeing in this group. I’d like to note that we don’t have any plan to use all of these (or possibly any), but I wanted to be safe rather than sorry in approaching it. In the second page of the survey is where you have a chance to let us know which plots (if any) you would be interested in specifically your character pursuing. The option to remain anonymous on this survey is “revoked”, but that is only to make sure that everyone participates AND that we are able to approach the right people with the right plot, if one is chosen.

BREAKING REPORT: LIMAONE NEWS !!!

Breaking news in Lima. This is LimaOne and I’m Tracy Canterbury. As many of you know, businesses all over Lima have been left in the wake of the new and improved money mogul superstore, the Piggly Wiggly -- owned by one of Lima’s very own, Santana Lopez. Ms. Lopez is back and bigger, better, and badder than ever and has been making her way up the steep path that has been paved for her by past management of the store, along with the help of a stellar PR team, and business is booming.

However, the tidal wave of sales has left other businesses in town cast ashore in their very own version of a Tom Hanks one-man-show. Some have even begun to fall back in sales enough to warrant speculation that a few going-out-of-business sales may be in the future. Terri Schuester, assistant manager for Sheets ‘N Things, has offered one outlook into this phenomena and quote,

“It’s sad to see such a small town fall apart all because of one woman. How am I supposed to encourage sales when more money is being pumped into a knock-off Wal-Mart than in fine knock-off linens? I though for sure it would be my husband who gave me a headache like this. Kendra owes me ten dollars.”

Other businesses are enjoying the surge, as some have found that an encouragement to shop for Piggly Wiggly grocery products has increased their sales in relative products, such as new kitchen appliances and the highest amount of grills released since 2012. In other news, another fire was put out at the home of Sandy Ryerson late last night. When firefighters found plastic dolls inside of the top, Ryerson only had a little to say on the manner. Quote,

“This is the only way to set the curls.”

Charlie’s Tavern, a town favorite bar and entertainment spot here in Lima, is one of the businesses that is facing a possibly bleak future. With the increase in promotions and sales, Charlie’s has faced a leak of its own. Once considered the only place to get a decent meal that didn’t include endless breadsticks, Charlie’s founder, Charlie Tucket, is looking to make peace with the Piggly Wiggly and to find a way to cross-promote in order to save a beloved spot for all of the Lima beans out there.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN IC?

As you can see from the above graphic, we have another event coming up for in-dash play! In an effort to stay above water, Charlie Tucket of Charlie’s Tavern is reaching out to Santana Lopez and her PR team to try to orchestrate an event that can cross-promote both businesses! Thus, a few different ideas have been created. The first one on the block is Open Mic Night! Hosted by Charlie’s Tavern, the employees of the Piggly Wiggly (and the higher-ups, including Santana herself and Quinn Fabray) have been invited to prepare pieces of entertainment one night only -- with free domestic beer and snacks for any who watch or participate. Selections can be songs, dramatic readings, or even poetry. The possibilities are endless. The event is scheduled for IC Saturday, July 30th, and will be featured as an in-dash interaction for the entire weekend from Friday night to Sunday afternoon OOC, to ensure that everyone has a chance to participate.

There will be two other events planned to end the summer and whether or not Charlie’s Tavern will be saved is still left up to the universe. If you have ideas for these two events then please feel free to send them in! The Admins have ideas, but I want to encourage you all to have a voice in the RP as well. Please like this post to ensure that you’ve read everything, and this information is officially known in the IC-world. Get ready for Open Mic Night, Piggly Wiggly employees!
