Road Trippin’ is today’s #bcmusicmakeup theme hosted by @caitlynpostsmakeup and myself 🚗🎶 For today’s song I chose the Maceo Plex remix of Chelsea Wolfe’s “The Warden” 😍 My hubs introduced the song to me in a DJ set he mixed a couple years back. That set is our go-to for driving in the car, it’s so good! “The Warden” isn’t necessarily a sing along track lol but there’s something about the chilled out tune that takes me places. If you’re a nervous driver (or backseat driver like me 🤣) chilled out tunes are a must in the car to avoid arguing lollll and this one’s great! 👌 I had a hard time figuring out what look I wanted to do so I’m taking my inspo from a look that beautiful Maria @livinglavidaglam shared with us last week. Beast Mode is the theme for today’s #bcmusicmakeup challenge hosted by @caitlynpostsmakeup and myself! I don’t care how old I get, I will ALWAYS immediately be energized when I hear @daftpunk 🤖 My song for today is “One More Time”—a classic that takes me back to a very particular instance where I had to handle a scary moment on my own. 😅 One of the highlights of my life was being able to catch Daft Punk’s set at Coachella back in 2006. It was immediately after having one of my first panic attacks. Talk about beast mode 😱 My girlfriends and I were in the crowd to watch Depeche Mode who I was super pumped to see live again, but my anxiety had other plans and I bolted out of the sea of people to calm myself down. I was super scared, confused, and alone so I plopped my tush down on the grass until I could catch my breath. Had it not been for that experience, I may have missed one of the shows that, to this date, I regard as one of those life changing live music moments. In a fully hyperventilating panic, I kicked off my shoes so I could anchor my feet to the ground (that still always helps for some reason). I closed my eyes and concentrated hard on regulating my breathing pattern. Between the cooling desert air, rhythmic beats, and grass between my toes, it calmed me right down after several minutes. When I eventually opened my eyes back up (and convinced my brain that I was okay), it was pure magic in the air after that. The light show and incredible connection @daftpunk had with the crowd was unforgettable 🙌✨ Not sure why I felt compelled to share this story lol but maybe there’s someone out there reading this going through an unsettling time that needs to not feel alone. If that’s you, just know that the moment is not forever. It will pass and you will feel better. Look for the things that anchor you and hold on tight. “Favorite Decade” is the theme for today’s #bcmusicmakeup hosted by @caitlynpostsmakeup and yours truly. I so wanted to choose 80s or 90s but I’ve shared a lot of love for those decades already.
