I’m rewatching WBL for the first time thanks to @negrowhat’s reblogs peer pressure and just noticed this in ep 6…

Did Shi De draw Shu Yi’s seductive underpants?? 😆 It might be a bathing suit but the writing on the post-it note is too blurry for me to run through google translate. Either way, Shi De was doing some horny doodles lol

How I feel about this character

Shu Yi is such a fun character to me. He is so painfully honest and blunt. He tries to be aloof and cool but his face is like a 4K TV displaying every emotion he has as he feels them. He is driven by emotional impulses, he for sure never truly thinks about things before he does them. When he's mad he lashes out and when he's sad he cries. He definitely thinks about things more in retrospect. It's part of the reason why Shi De was able to manipulate his way into his life. I do love that Shu Yi says what he's thinking and he doesn't stifle himself and that makes him reliable and trustworthy to me. I appreciate that he calls people out on their BS no matter who they are, people like to treat him like he's stupid or a child and I'm glad he doesn't allow it. I love him.

Only Gao Shi De...and sometimes not even Shi De.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

I loved Shu Yi's friendship with Zhe Yu. I love that Zhe Yu encouraged all of Shu Yi's wrongdoings. I love that he was so ready to fight his former crush Shi De for trying to weasel his way back into Shu Yi's life without explaining himself. They just give off the energy of petty popular girls when they're together.

My unpopular opinion about this character

Personally...I think Shu Yi forgave his father and Shi De too fucking fast. Shi De let that man talk him into GHOSTING Shu Yi for FIVE YEARS and it took almost no fucking effort on his part. Shu Yi was right that Shi De didn't believe in his love for him and Shu Yi's father had NO business interfering. And he gave such an ass-backwards reason behind it. Shi De is exactly where Otou-san was once upon a time and it's not like Shi De was a bad guy he was smart and talented and destined for great things. I think Shu Yi should've let Shi De grovel a lot longer and highkey he should've told his dad to kick rocks until he was ready to accept Shi De. As much as I love Shu Yi's reconciliation with Shi De, sometimes I feel like Shi De didn't deserve it at that time. But Shu Yi was ready to forgive him long before he did.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

Wish we had gotten a wedding and I really did want to see Shu Yi SOAR with his new company.

Persuasion is my favorite Jane Austen novel for the same reason I love this confession and moment. The pain of long absence, the desperate hope of reunion. Love it.

A confession in the rain! This scene is so good, the love triangle angst abounds, and the look of pained resignation on Sailom's face - he had to say it, but it didn't feel good. What a moment.

Prapai is truly whipped. He has a one night stand with Sky and immediately commits his life to winning him over. He takes care of Sky while he’s sick. He hand delivers food for Sky to ensure he’s eating well. He helps Sky with his homework. Sky doodles on his hand and he turns it into an expensive lapel pin just so he can show the world he belongs to Sky. He helps Sky work through his trauma. He even goes as far as to owe the mafia a favour after Sky’s abusive ex comes back into the picture (presumably to have said ex executed). I’m pretty sure after he meets Sky his thoughts consist almost purely about him.

he literally does everything to win over sky and when he said nothing will get in his way he meant it. he didn't stop trying until he had that man agreeing to marry him. he was always there for sky when he needed him and he didn't let sky's past bother him in any way. final point: he would not shut up about sky just.. kissing his hurt finger. he made all that fuss over the tiniest gesture of affection that man is GONE. also when he reassured sky over and over that he wanted all of him and cared about him, and wasnt just there to take advantage of him or his body like his ex. plus have you seen him looking at sky. his pupils turn into hearts

I'm sorry, but that ending was a bit dramatic. He's only moving to a different classroom. They will still be inseparable outside of class. We're not talking about they won't see each other for five years with one thinking the other one ghosted him to start a family here. For everybody's sanity, I do hope S2 is around the corner.

Imagine if DeYi had 12 hours to tell their story instead of six, what we could have...
