Happy World Rainforest Day from right here in beautiful British Columbia — home to one of the most extraordinary temperate rainforests on Earth.

From the lush coastal forests of the mainland to the ancient stands on Vancouver Island, BC protects some of the oldest living trees in the world. Towering cedars, Douglas firs, and Sitka spruce have stood for centuries — some for more than a thousand years — shaping our landscapes, our culture, and the craft we practice every day.

At Cascade Handcrafted, we work with BC timber respectfully and sustainably, always mindful that these forests are more than resources — they’re living ecosystems worth protecting for generations to come.

Today, we celebrate the rainforest we’re lucky enough to call home.
