A Day in the Life of a Design Student
Morning Routine
Woke up at 7:30 AM. Usual routine—freshen up, light breakfast, and some quiet time before the day starts. Mentally prepping while sipping chai really helps center my thoughts.
10 AM – Town Hall Meeting
We had a town hall with ma’am at 10. She had this warm, joyful vibe that instantly made the room feel open and friendly—but also had a really disciplined energy. It was easy to connect and actually feel heard. Felt more open than I expected, tbh.
1 PM – Typography Class
Our afternoon lecture (1 PM) was all about typography—not just choosing fonts, but understanding the whole anatomy of type. Learned about baselines, x-heights, and how type design can completely shift a message’s mood. It really opened my eyes to the power of text.
Creative Flow
After class, I hopped into Adobe Fresco to play around with what we learned. Tried sketching some bold display type and experimenting with texture brushes. It's wild how a small change in weight or spacing can transform everything.
Night Wind-down
Evenings are usually chill. Sometimes I sketch random ideas or tune into a design podcast while lying in bed. Creativity never really switches off—it just shifts into softer tones at night.
Reflection
Design school is like a blend of structure and chaos. Some days are full of technical stuff, others are super visual and freeing. Either way—I’m growing, learning, and loving it.
