BDMLR Freed a Humpback Whale in Loch Eriboll N.Scotland
The humpback had become entangled in creel ropes so once alerted to the animal the BDMLR large whale disentanglement team went out and yesterday were able to free the humpback/
Thought it would be nice news to share on a cetacean being saved the same fate as Lulu last week.

This March I will be taking a one day marine mammal medic course by British Divers Marine Life Rescue! I am sooooo excited about this as I have wanted to do this for a very long time but never had the chance! I'll get to learn about marine mammals, the biological adaptations, threats, first aid, assessments and rescue techniques for cetaceans and seals. The course will also include a practical session on seal, dolphin and whale rescue where we train with blow up animals filled with water. Greatest thing is after completion of this one day course I'll receive a certificate, year membership, ID Badge and will get to help in real life rescues. I can't wait to get out there and help rescue!
15 pilot whales appear to be at risk of getting stranded in shallow water at Kyle of Durness, at the far northwest corner of mainland Scotland.
Coastguard volunteers, local rangers, the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR), Scottish SPCA inspectors and even the Royal Navy were this afternoon heading for the scene to lend their services if needed.
Time is always of the essence in situations like these, and the remote location will make any rescue attempts difficult.
