*throws questions at YOU*
for the write a thon ask game! Lot of questions you don't have to answer them all :P
What is your favorite WIP (published or not)?
What is an unsung WIP of yours you'd like to promote?
What do you like most about your own writing?
What is something you admire in others' writing?
Who is your favorite character to write, and what do you like about how you portray them?
What creator does your favorite portrayal of your favorite character? How do they do that?
Hello! My favorite WIP has gotta be Blood Drops on Roses. My long fic. My baby. She's at 200,000 K (about 60k published) and showing no signs of slowing down. I love Wild and all the little facets of him, and I love that I can use this fic to show how I see him to the community. hmmm. My Linked Universe AU: Lethal Company. It's my least read and also one of my favorites. The basic story is that Twilight wakes up in Lethal Company. But it gets a lot darker than that as he and the rest of the Chain, who show up in varying places in the story, do their best to survive. Fun stuff Hmmm. At this moment, my writing feels like it's stalling a bit, so I'm not quite sure what my favorite things is. I'll dig deep and say that I like my internal character work. Fics of mine like A Fleeting Flight for a Further Fall and BDOR Prologue: A Haircut are probably my best examples for that. I ADORE other people's ability to write a good fight scene. Gripping, fast paced, take your breath away kind of scene, you know? @not-freyja is absolutely stunning when it comes to that. Just read one of their works like This is an Adjuration and you'll see immediately what I mean. Another author that recently blew me away was st0rmy on ao3 @st0rmyskies (?) (I hope this is the right person AND they're not bothered by the tagging HELLO SORRY) with their Home Sweet Home: The Drabbles Collection. I think it was Chapter 9? Anyways, please go check them out they're amazing.
My favorite boy is Wild. Honestly, I love the differing characterizations that everyone in the fandom has. BOTW is a very open world game, so a lot of his personality seems to come from that person's individual play style (if they have in fact played the game) which I find fascinating to pick out in the story. On top of that, I like to see how his fans in particular interpret his memory loss and resulting personality because of it. How much they believe memories affect his personality, how many habits are able to break through or have been lost forever (I think I'm stealing that particular phrasing from you @elle-rosewater, because you put to words something I'd known but couldn't verbalize). My favorite Wild writer... hm, I've got a few. I love how @gintrinsic-writing did Wild in Degrees of Resurrection (Fic where Wild is raised by the Yiga). I also, at this moment, still SCREAM every time I see that @tashilover has updated Jaws that bite, claws that catch (Twilight is a serial killer, and Wild is the only one of the Chain that finds out). I am still trying to finish Adjuration (.... lo siento), so I can't say I've seen a WHOLE LOT of how @not-freyja writes Wild, but their recent one shot The Shrine (Link wakes up in the shrine and loses his memory) is absolutely killer. Solistrix's ( @solistrix-writes ??) and still, the cradle blossoms (Twilight & Wild's relationship from Twilight's POV) is a banger as well. ALSO I went where the crow flies (BOTW Wild woke up early, never got the Slate) by smokingginger, who I don't think is on tumblr but there's the link. There are more but I feel like I've tagged way too many people in this post at this point. Apologies to all of you. Anyways, thanks for the ask! This was so fun to answer
And Cheeto continues to draw for lord knows why. I have so many other things I should be doing, including writing. Here’s a WIP of a scene from my own fanfic BDOR that includes Wild. Kudos to anyone that can figure out the scene
BDOR Prologue: The Sword that Learned to Speak (Febuwhump Alt Prompt: Human Weapon)
TW: none
A little hum that Wild almost didn’t seem aware of danced upon the afternoon air as he stirred at the pot propped over the fire. His wooden spoon clack clacked against the metal edges of the cooking pot, and the fragrant scent of the herbal soup with mushrooms mingled with the impromptu music to create a comforting atmosphere that evening. Twilight stared at the kid over the campfire, chewing at a cuticle in thought as he listened. Ever since he’d met him about a month ago, he’d always been… quiet, for lack of a better word. No, there was a better word. That word was eerily, frighteningly, completely and utterly silent.
He didn’t make a sound around Twilight, if he could help it. He spoke solely in gestures that Twilight was only just beginning to learn how to translate, his body language guarded and his face near expressionless except for an annoyed scowl. Unflinchingly mute and stoic, he didn’t seem to voice a single verbal sound if he could help it—he didn’t laugh or cry or shout, didn’t even let out more than a few whimpers that one time a few weeks back that he’d gotten a monster’s arrow in his thigh and Twilight had been forced to dig out with no more equipment than a rusty dagger, a scrappy tourniquet, and a cheap bottle of alcohol. As time went on, Wild started to become more inclined to show that emotion on his face and through his posture—often in amusing mimicry of Twilight himself—but even then he was careful to walk and eat and even fight in near complete silence besides the clashing of blades in battle. Hell, Twilight wasn’t even sure if the kid farted. He couldn’t make heads or tails of it.
Well babes still haven’t found the scene, but I HAVE found some fun diagrams of stuff for the fic XD

Hello strangers and acquaintances, friends and enemies, welcome to the blog! I'm HotCheetoHatred (or just Cheeto, if you prefer) she/her, fanfic writer, broke college student, and mayonnaise hater! I mainly engage with Linked Universe, but I may occasionally reblog other things. My ask box is open!

Blood Drops on Roses: A Stressful Night (21/80)
Wild learns some more info about timelines, group dynamics, and Wind. He might just learn something about himself, too. Tw: none. Amnesia, maybe?
“Alright, Wild, so here’s Sky—” Four pointed to a spot at the top of the line. “—who’s the first reincarnation. He says that he thinks there was a guy before him, but we haven’t seen him yet. That tracking so far?”
Wild nodded. The Hero of Skyloft, the first chosen bearer of the Triforce that tempered the Master Sword, the progenitor of the Royal Line. Soup pants, now. Wild avoided eye contact.
“Then.” Four slid the point of his stick down the line. “We’ve got myself, nice to meet you by the way.” He reached out across the diagram to shake his hand. “We didn’t get a proper introduction earlier.”

Hi! I just wanted to say how much I love you fic, Blood Drops on Roses!
It's amazing, the characters are very fleshed out, their thoughts and actions are so well described, I can picture everything perfectly.
The relationships between characters are both super accurate and amazingly written. The tension, fondness, confusion, betrayal, and everything else comes alive with your writing.
The plot is so interesting and makes so much sense, the way you wrote Twilight taking care of Wild is exactly how I imagine something like that would go. And you perfectly capture the struggle of Wild being alone and not knowing anything, which is why Twilight is there.
It's just an amazing idea, great story and Wonderful writing!!
Every time I remember a scene it makes me smile because you did such an amazing job. Thank you for writing it, sharing it, and making me smile.
You're amazing!
I'm so sorry that this took me (checks notes) over 5 months to respond to. I kept seeing it in my inbox and getting so overwhelmed by the love that I just didn't know what to say. Honestly, still don't. But I am so, so thrilled that you like my fic, and I am so touched that you spent the time to write out such a loving and sweet comment to me about it. I'm so happy that the relationships and scenes have held up so far, and I am so glad to hear that it's made you smile. I hope that you continue to enjoy it just as much as we get further into the story.
Thank you so much for reading, and so much for reaching out and letting me know that you enjoyed it. I am honored to have such wonderful, loving people as readers.
