Okay, I think I mentioned earlier that I’m doing a complete overhaul of my grimoire. It’s making me think a lot about what’s important in my practice and how, ideally, I want my practice to operate. I think I needed to step back from tumblr witchcraft for a while to get that sense of what works for me and what doesn’t work. I’m first and foremost a Christian witch, and I think having that chance to pull back from a spot where I felt like I constantly needed to defend my practice to other people was a really good thing. It gave me the chance to do some solo research on my own without it being disseminated through this website and to do some soul-searching, and that break was nice.
Anyway, all this to say -- I’m reorganizing my grimoire. It’s obviously a huge work-in-progress, but I like it so far. It feels more personal this time around. But! I also thought I’d do a brief overview of what I’m doing, because it’s always felt best to talk things out.
Holidays/Religious Observances are going to play a much bigger role in what I do. I’ve got a big ol’ list of holidays, feast days, and other assorted religious observances that I feel are important to me and so should be included in how I practice.
Lunar Cycles are something I want to bring into my practice more prominently as well. I’ve always tried to sync up my workings with the moon, but I want to do so more consistently.
Correspondences are going to be pared down extensively. I think I need to focus more on personal associations and what I have on hand more often because my practice has always worked better with that personal connection.
The Incorporation of Psalms, especially the the Penitential Psalms, into spell work, which has always been something that I’ve been interested in doing and, to a degree, something I’ve done previously in spell work.
The Incorporation of the Angelic Hierarchy into my practice and spell work.
Divination! And getting my life together re: the use of divination in practice and spell work.
