You ever see a peninsula of rocks on a beach and go "I can make it to the tower at the end of this". Well, I did.

I start and I'm like "Oh this is pretty" because we were supposed to be watching the sunset. But I had a mission. I had to touch the pole.

So I get most of the way there and thought I would stop, because it was harder than I expected. But I heard two girls behind me and one of them said "I'm going to touch it." And I couldn't back down after that.

So I get even farther and I'm getting a bit tired. I felt like turning around, but I was too close so I kept going.

Then I touched the pole. It was actually boring af. It was a rusty thing and had faded markings on it reading "23". But I did touch it nonetheless.

And I was left so long without talking to people that I made this monologue on the way back
