Animal Print!!! It’s everywhere from high end to low end. You have leopard, tiger, zebra, and snake print, you name it. The animal print hit the runway hard this fall. Your favorite celebrities such as Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Jennifer Lopez, Tami Roman, and many more have been seen wearing animal print designs. Yes, it is a really popular trend that is taking over this fall but let’s be real. Animal print has been with us for a long time, a wardrobe staple for many stylish women so don’t let the trend fool you.
This popular trend has been around since the 1920’s and stuck out on women’s fur coats. In the 30’s, women wore leopard as an accessory over their coats. It was very inconspicuous and wasn’t in your face. Entering the 40’s, the trend stuck out. The print became more bold and loud. People began seeing women in the 1940’s with the print on their evening-wear. It has been introduced in women’s clothing, but in the 1960’s, it was back to the accessories again but with a twist. Women were matching their hat with their coat or handbags with their coat. Closer the conclusion of the 60’s, the leopard print was being mixed with different textures. Two of the materials suede and fur were being combined. The 70’s leopard made a statement. It was done on a jumpsuit. Going forward, the leopard print was everywhere such as dresses, belts, pants, and shoes. You name it. The print is such a classic piece to own.
I want to force on the leopard print for this post on you. Leopard is my favorite because of the designs and how great it looks with different prints and colors.

Vintage!!! I love vintage. My favorite vintage garment is this dress in my closet for its design. It has little gold sparkles on it, a mock design, and it’s sexy on me. Haha, I am too much but your clothing has to make you feel great. I wanted to keep it classy with red and black the way many of us wear it. I went with this faux leather jacket. I had this faux leather for many years and it is one of my go-to pieces. It always makes my outfit look on point. My pop of color is this red bag with gold chain handles.

Work on Saturday! Weather! Blah! But that didn’t affect my mood for this outfit. I went with this lovely leopard print sweater super comfortable, soft, and warm. I wanted to play with the tan and black colors of the sweater. It’s faux suede and real suede, such a classic garment to have in your closet. I wanted to play with the texture as they did in the late 60’s. So I went with this faux suede rust-colored skirt and jacket to pair with this sweater. It is about being comfortable while on my feet at the workplace, so these chocolate brown boots were a match made in heaven.

The second way I would wear this sweater is casual, you can rock it with jeans. Listen, I live in jeans. When I tell you, I live in jeans; I really do. I have skinny jeans, distressed jeans, cropped jeans, ankle jeans, and many more styles. I own lower ends brands to high-end retail. So rock it with your favorite jeans and kicks! Better off, toughen up the look with a leather jacket or keep it classy with a trench coat.

What best way to rock a trend if you aren’t sure about? Focus on the accessories or footwear! It is super easy to wear. You can wear accessories with all black, brown, and red. You have a lot of options when wearing trends. Why not rock it on a pair of sneakers like I did. I went with navy blue ankle pants with a black turtleneck top. You know how I feel about black and blue together. Such a lovely combination! I threw on my plaid coat to keep my butt warm because it was freezing. I played with the colors from the coat so this vintage white bag would pop.

We have a contemporary dress that features leopard print. I made the decision to mixed prints here. Yes! You can mix animal print with other print but I like to keep it in the same color family so it doesn’t look like a hot mess. Your neutral colors are black, brown, and navy so I treat these colors like my neutrals. I went with this blazer which I purchased from a thrift shop. It is a striped blazer, dark gray in color, and a bit of white. The white t-shirt helps bring out the white in the blazer. It was a lovely day but I felt cold so I wore over the knee boots and a black hat.

Jeans!!! My favorite garment! Like I always say, “I live in jeans”. I have jeans that are black and olive color and another pair in burgundy. After the big snow disaster on Thursday, I didn’t want to wear anything much and I needed to go to the Post office. I wanted to keep warm with this fleece coat. It looks like an olive in my house so but brown in the photos. It is a mystery what color the jacket is. As for my pop of color, I wore this yellow scarf.

I went with a boyfriend style leopard top. It is oversized and perfect. I kept it simple. I feel that with leopard you can go simple and mix it with a statement piece or go bold. It is really up to you. I kept the bottom tight with my skinny jeans since everything on top is big and oversized. I didn’t want to lose myself. As always red does so well with this print.

Ok!!! I really need to stop shopping at Target but I can’t help it just like with vintage shopping and thrifting. A great way to wear this trend is to wear it with outerwear garments. This leopard print is gray and black in color. Let’s make this stand out by keeping everything muted in this outfit and wearing all black with different texture.
