my perspective of mark beaks as someone who's an asian woman of color is like

i love to hate mark beaks. i think he says racist shit but i don't think he is racist inherently. i think he just suffers from a lack of worldliness. he's obviously a pastiche of a bunch of stereotypes of nepo babies and young rich millennials. i see a lot of kelly osbourne in him actually. he says dumb shit with or without malicious intent.

i grew up living in a small town in texas as one of the only mixed race people and one of the only asian people around. i've had to learn over the years that there's a line between white person who says ignorant racist things. and an actively hateful racist white person. mark beaks does not strike me as an actively hateful racist bird because he's a cartoon character (and like. cartoons are only as skin deep as like a haircut or a tattoo) and because he's just a flat out nasty person to be around in general.

see compared to someone like gyro, mark appears to be nice. he can certainly play nice with the interns in his debut episode where huey and dewey get jobs at waddle. however, when you dig beneath his feathers, you find a mile long mean streak. conversely, gyro appears to be a cunt, and he acts like a cunt - but he's shown to be deeply caring and passionate about his work. mark beaks just has an appetite for destruction. he wants glory but he doesn't want to work for recognition.

so yeah. love to hate mark beaks. but also. love to love mark beaks. he does a damn good job at being a narrative foil for fenton and gyro.

vivian and roxy all grown up. they're both in their undergrad studies now with vivian studying fashion in new stork city at parsons and roxy studying computer science at stanford. they're best friends, but vivian secretly has a crush on roxy. however, the distance between them keeps her from confessing her love 💔💔💔💔 also their dads still hate each other even though gyro and mark are approaching their 50s atp.
