OKAY!! @beamthechao !! I'm only about halfway through reading it (so no spoilers anyone!) but here is a short summary!

Dorohedoro is written and illustrated by a woman named Q Hayashida!

There are two worlds. The Human world, and the Sorcerer world. Sorcerers conjure doors and they use those as portals to enter the human world. The sorcerers come to the human world to "experiment" with their magic (AKA kill, disfigure, enslave, etc, the inferior magic-less humans)

The story is about this guy named Caiman. He has a lizard head. Some sorcerer did it! But he can't remember anything from before that day! Who he was, his real name, anything at all. He's looking for the sorcerer that did this to him, and trying to recover his memories.

His best friend is this girl named Nikaido! She helps Caiman hunt and kill sorcerers that come to the human world. She wants to help Caiman recover his memories. She makes great gyoza! She has sweet sneakers and kicks real hard. She’s so cool!! I love Nikaido!!

...and going for a drive! The story and world is very dark, violent, and (very) gory, but it's also surprisingly cute, funny, and extremely charming. I’ve found myself numerous times reading this manga for hours at a time, and that’s something really rare for me.

You end up falling in love with every character, even the ones that are supposed to be the "bad guys". The art is beautiful, some of my absolute favorite I've ever seen in a manga. RIN APPROVED!! AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Rated M for mature for violence, blood, gore, and (although not necessarily sexualized) occasional nudity!
