How is your writing process? Do you organize your ideas first or do you have an insight and write it down easily? And do you have any writing advice?

Hi sweetie! My writing process is quite frustrating to be honest.

Some of the time, I have to get through it by sheer will; especially when I’ve hit a wall. Sigh the dreaded writer’s block. Then there are moments of clarity, where everything makes sense and its all visceral - like I can see it actually happening inside my head. I’d like to think I’m quite imaginative but sometimes I’ve got to hunt for something to inspire me.

The thing is, I always have an itch to write - a scratch that won’t go away. And if I don’t try to work out the itch, then I get anxious etcetera etcetera. Then it becomes a matter of what - what do I want to write? Other times I’m writing to de-stress or to channel my emotions into something productive instead of wallowing in self-loathing or some other emotion.

Basically it’s all over the place lol. 

The biggest problem with my writing process is that it isn’t stable. It’s a little easier with fanfiction, but I have trouble keeping the goals I set for myself sometimes, which makes me finicky - even when I’ve outlined something I’d like to write or finish, I find excuses. So yeah, it is unstable and not necessarily easy or hard.

Sorry, I know I’ve sort of made a mess of an answer - but this is the closest way I think I’m able to explain it lol.

Lastly, in terms of writing advice I was actually asked this a couple months ago and I outlined a couple of things that I think works for me so maybe they’ll work for you too here.

Edit: But what I would also like to add is how important editing is. Take it from someone who cringes after re-reading something I’ve written even a day or two ago, edit. Edit. And more edit. Not enough to drive yourself crazy, but just enough to make your story as cohesive as possible, because trust me - you never know how much better you could write something whether it has to do with the characters, their actions, the pacing or the general atmosphere etc after looking at it with fresh eyes.

Dom x Rose (TCaTF)! I don’t think they’re a popular OTP? At least that I’ve seen since I’ve been on here? But oh my lord I found Rose to be so annoying and she just…didn’t work with Dom.

(6) Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?

I didn’t hate Zig x MC before being introduced to the Choices fandom but I didn’t have any interest in having my MC romance him. Once I lurked for six months joined the fandom and started seeing screenshots of different Zig scenes I started to like him and MC together…so much so that I went back to Book Three and had my MC start to romance him! Sorry James.

(7) Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?

James Ashton (joking!) Yes…ROE! Don’t you dare @ me but I used to really like ROE. Then it just started to drag (Book Three was hella boring) and by the time the Aunt sabotaged the boat and it crashed on the island I was like…”okay this is just stupid now.” Tbh I never finished Book Three! Thanks for sending this in!!
