I remember the first time I got a little edgy with my mermaid look... I was SO scared that nobody would like my darker Gothic look, and thought my viewers start unsubscribing from my channel. . When I started with mermaiding in 2016, I designed my @the_mernation tail so that it could look pretty and princess like ALONG WITH looking Gothic and edgy based on the clothing/makeup that accompanied it. There was nothing like my tail, Sparda, at the time... and "Goth Mermaids" and sirens weren't really a thing either, from what I saw. I thought that being a pretty "Mermaid Princess" was the only way to be a mermaid.... anything else would be shunned. . HOWEVER! I have been a Goth for a the majority of my life. It was only a matter of time until my "darkness" started to shine through cracks of my mersona. This picture was of one of my first "risky" adventures as a slightly darker and edgier version of Mermaid Phantom. . Honestly, because of the weather conditions and some technical difficulties, the video that was filmed on this day was crap... but it was the start of what is now the modern-day Mermaid Phantom that you know. 🖤💀🕷 . I am proud to be who and what I am. Call me a freak if you want. A weirdo, an attention seeker, a Satanist, a depression case, immature, insecure... whatever. Most of those labels do not describe me anyways. Call me what you will, but let it be known that never may you ever call me a clone. . 🕸 I am my own person. I am not a copy, duplicate or a follower. I am me. And in a world where you can be anything... I hope you will choose to be you. 🕸 .
