I haven't posted a photo in a very long time, so here is a photo from the summer of 2021. 🖤 My hair was not dyed black back then. I almost forgot what my natural hair looks like 😂 This picture was taken on a family trip to South Carolina. So... this is actually the ocean, not Lake Michigan. Because of my bad eyesight, I chose not to swim in the ocean that day. The ocean is very wavy. And since I can never see waves until they're in my face I'm not really a fan of swimming in wavy water. 😅 The ocean was very nice and warm feeling, but I really prefer my calm lake to the no-chill ocean. I only have a few days left until I go back to my day job, so I'm a bit of a gloomy mermaid. I'll also keep hopping into that lake every chance I get until it is no longer safe to do so (if I get eye surgery, I'll be unable to swim for 6 months, so I NEED TO MAKE UP FOR THAT NOW! 😂). Here's a photo for a change! I really had fun with this Steampunk Goth look. 🥰🖤 I want to wear this look more often! The top from @mermaid_molly_merlifecreations fits so perfectly and looks very nice too! And the ears from @cosplayfx make me feel like I'm straight out of one of my favorite video games (Jak and Daxter 🙃). I'll for sure be bringing this look back in the summer of 2022. Anyways. Just popping up to say hello again! 👋🏻 Been busy with stuff in the land of real, but very much looking forward to swimming in my magical lake again soon. Just a casual Gothic mermaid chilling with her icebergs (and her RE8-themed necklace 🥲) . Lately, I haven't been wearing much makeup for my videos/photos. This is mostly because makeup takes a long time to do and I don't always have the time/energy to do it. But... it is also because I don't want people to think that how I look with makeup is how I actually look. Makeup-face me and normal-face me look very different. While I love creatively expressing myself with heavy makeup (and will continue to do so as I see fit), I also don't like it when people have a false image of me. In fact, I've noticed a very sad trend. . When I walk around with a full face of makeup, people (literally) stop their cars to talk to me. Those same people drive right past me normally. When I post photos with a ton of makeup on, I get lots of comments about my looks (good and bad). But when I'm just me, posts don't get as many likes, views or comments. . I'm not on this earth for attention, but I will admit that it makes me a bit sad knowing that people like my makeup more than they like my face. 😅 But I guess makeup is an art, and art is made to be appreciated... right? Faces are more practical things, made for seeing, smelling and biting things. . I dunno. But here's my face. It has minimal makeup on it. I'm kinda dude-looking without much makeup on, which is okay. My face (minus the eyes and nose) functions how it is supposed to, so I'm happy about that. . Please remember that what you see online is typically dressed up in one way or another. Please don't compare yourself to what you see here on Insta. If you feel dude-like or undudely at times (or anywhere in between), you're not alone. I'm sure 90% of your friends, followers and those you follow are in the same boat as you at times. You're uniquely you, and that itself is pretty special. 🥰 . I don't care who you are or what you look like. EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT! 🧜🏻‍♀️ Who here dwells in Indiana? I don't, but I'll be swimming over to Ferdinand, Indiana this spring for the Dragons of the Realm fantasy fest. I found this photo while looking for different photos to send a fellow mer for a project they are working on. I was in a sassy mood while filming with my dad the day this was taken, and nature provided me with a perfect prop! 😆 . I don't have much else to say. This is not a great photo, but it is a great example of nature providing for its inhabitants. 😉 . If there is one thing that swimming in Lake Michigan has taught me, it is that sometimes you just need to dive in. Don't overthink things. Don't procrastinate- just jump. Do the thing. The water doesn't get any warmer the longer you stare/scream at it. Might as well jump in and get it over with so you can enjoy what's waiting for you under the surface. 🖤 . I told myself at the end of 2021 that 2022 would be the year I regain my health. Next week, I have a procedure scheduled that will hopefully help improve my quality of life in the long-run. I'm excited to get the ball rolling! Aaaand kinda sorta super nervous about the IV, I'll admit... I hate anything involving veins, so ummm.. yuck 🤢 . There is also new mermaid merch that will be released in February, since producing more merch is a goal of mine. One of the designs will not feature Mermaid Phantom, but will show off a new character. It should be super cute, if everything goes as planned 🥰 . I still have a lot of other goals and dreams that need to be acted upon- but one step at a time, right? Gotta finish these things before starting anything else 😅 . Lake Michigan feels like home, and I've been missing home. What else is there to say? 😅 I've always wanted to try swimming in the winter- not for the sake of content creation, but because I've always wondered what it would be like (although filming it only made sense). Now I can say that the latest (earliest?) I've swam is January 24th. As it turns out, swimming in the winter is very difficult, since ice loves getting in the way and nothing works quite as it should. 🙃❄️ . I don't recommend trying this, as it was a very foolish thing to do. That said, it really made me feel alive and energetic for the first time in a long time (after the painful thawing process was over, that is). Can't say I'm dying to do it again, but I'm glad I can cross that off of the bucket list. 🖤 . All of that said... is anyone cool enough to tell what's on my necklace? 😝 . Normally, I create unboxing videos before posting swimming videos when I get a new tail... BUT! The unboxing video for this tail didn't turn out well, since it was filmed after work (and before swimming) and my brain was mush. So you'll have to forgive me for the lack of an unboxing video for this tail. Sorry about that. I tried. 😅 . But umm... hey. Allow me to introduce you to this stunning Gothic beauty. It's from @moonsong_magic and it is flipping fabulous! I filmed a swimming video for it back in October 22nd and finally posted it to YouTube (link in bio). Not only is this tail custom fit to my body (thank you, Kylee! 😍), but it swims like a dream. AND it has the most mesmerized fins I've seen on any tail. I can't wait to take it out again next summer (and perhaps in pools this winter). . If you haven't looked into getting a Moonsong Magic tail yet, you're missing out. 🥰🖤 . ANYWAYS.
