This Black Bean Veggie Burger tastes great and is better for you than regular meat burgers. It tastes great and fills you up because it's full of black beans and colorful vegetables. You can make this plant-based burger your own by adding your favorite toppings. It's a great way to eat without meat.
Ingredients: 1 can 15 oz black beans, drained and rinsed. 1/2 cup breadcrumbs. 1/4 cup finely chopped onion. 1/4 cup finely chopped bell pepper. 1/4 cup grated carrot. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 tsp cumin. 1/2 tsp chili powder. 1/4 tsp salt. 1/4 tsp black pepper. 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro. 1/4 cup shredded cheese optional. 4 whole wheat burger buns. Lettuce, tomato, and condiments for topping.
Instructions: In a bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher. Add breadcrumbs, chopped onion, bell pepper, carrot, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper to the mashed black beans. Mix well to combine. Stir in chopped cilantro and shredded cheese if desired. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and lightly grease it with oil or cooking spray. Cook the veggie burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are heated through and have grill marks. Toast the whole wheat burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly browned. Assemble your veggie burgers with lettuce, tomato, and your favorite condiments. Serve hot and enjoy!
