“Come on, it'll be fun!” Feliciano exclaimed.
Lovino leaned against the wall and crossed his arms. “No,” he said simply.
Feliciano frowned. “Why not? I bet you'd have a great time.” Lovino shook his head. “If you come, I'll stop asking for favors forever.”
“That's a lie.”
“You're right. But I'll stop for this entire month,” Feliciano said. Lovino considered this. He shook his head again. Feliciano sighed. “I'll convince Dad to stop pestering you about getting a girlfriend.”
Lovino’s head perked up. “Really? Are you serious? You'd do that?” Feliciano nodded. “Well, he did always favor you.”
“No way. But yes, I'll do it,” Feliciano smiled. Lovino sighed in relief. Finally, after months of pestering, Lovino's dad would finally be done trying to set him up with different women. All Lovino needed to do was hang out with Feliciano and his friends for a day. “Let's get going!” Feliciano said. Lovino followed him out the door.

“Hey, Feli!” some blond guy exclaimed.
“Alfred! How are you? This is my brother, Lovino,” Feliciano said.
“Hi,” Alfred said. Lovino said nothing. Alfred's smile did not falter one bit.
“Well, let's get going,” Feliciano said. Alfred and Lovino followed Feliciano into the coffeeshop. “I was thinking we could eat and then do other stuff. I don't have anything specific in mind for what we can do.”
“That's fine,” Alfred said as they walked to the counter.
They got their food and sat down at a table. Alfred and Feliciano spoke, and Lovino ignored them. He just sat there and poked at his food.
“Lovino?” Feliciano asked. “You should say something.”
“Like what?” Lovino asked, annoyed.
“Anything,” Feliciano said. “This is supposed to be fun.” Lovino rolled his eyes as Feliciano looked at Alfred uncomfortably. “I'm sorry. He's not always like this.”
“That's a lie and you know it,” Lovino said. “I'm fucking terrible and that's all there is to it.”
Alfred took an uncomfortable sip of coffee and said, “I don't think you're terrible from what Feli has told me.”
“You talk about me? Bastard,” Lovino hissed.
“I talk about my family with all my friends. Is that a problem?” Feliciano asked.
“Yes, it's a problem. I don't want you talking to your friends about me.”
“Sorry. I'll stop, but let's not let this ruin our moods. Come on, this is supposed to be fun!”
Lovino grunted in response. The group sat there in uncomfortable silence until Alfred spoke up, “the coffee here is, uh, interesting.”
“It sucks ass,” Lovino said.
“I didn't get coffee. Can I try it?” Feliciano asked.
“Sure,” Alfred said, handing his coffee over to Feliciano. He took a drink and his face scrunched up.
“It is not good,” he said.
“That's what I said,” Lovino said.
“Is your food good?” Alfred asked.
“I haven't tried it yet,” Lovino said. Alfred and Feliciano watched him in silence. “What? I can't eat it with you watching me!”
“Sorry,” Alfred said. He and Feliciano looked away as Lovino took a bite of his food.
He spit it out and said, “the food here sucks ass, too.”
“I thought it was good,” Alfred said, disappointed.
“I have to go to the bathroom,” Feliciano said, standing up. He walked away toward the bathroom.
“Me too,” Lovino said. He quietly followed his brother toward the bathroom. He stopped at the door and started to open it, but stopped halfway.
“Hi, it's not going well,” Feliciano said. “Yeah, he doesn't like him.” He paused. “Maybe. But right now Lovino would rather be anywhere else. Are you sure they're a good match? Maybe we could set him up with someone else.”
That was all that Lovino could bear to hear before he stomped back to the table. He angrily grabbed his stuff and started walking away.
“Where are you going?” Alfred asked, standing up.
Lovino turned around abruptly. “My stupid, dumb, little brother was trying to set us up on a date! I overheard him in the bathroom.”
Alfred was taken aback. “Really?”
“Yes, really. I hate him so much.”
Suddenly, Feliciano reappeared next to Alfred. “Where are you going?” he asked.
“You are trying to set me up on a date, you jackass.”
Feliciano frowned. “You heard?” Lovino nodded. “I'm sorry, but it was Dad's idea. He thought you and Alfred would be a good match.”
Lovino groaned. “I don't want you won't meddling in my love life! Fuck off!”
He left before anyone could say anything else.

Lovino tried not to glare as he scanned people's groceries. He was still mad at his brother for trying to set him up on a date the other day. He tried not looking at the customers so they wouldn't see his glare.
“Lovino?”
Lovino’s head shot up to see Alfred standing in front of him. “Fuck off,” he said.
“Whoa there. I need to pay for my groceries first,” Alfred said.
Lovino grumbled and continued scanning the items.
“So,” Alfred said. “I was wondering if you'd want to get coffee sometime?”
Lovino stopped and looked at Alfred. “No.”
Alfred frowned. “Really? You don't want to?”
“No. Enough people are meddling in my love life for my liking,” Loving said.
“Well, technically, me asking you out isn't meddling in your love life. It's more like me trying to give you a love life,” Alfred explained. Lovino groaned. “I like you, Lovino, but if you don't want to, I'll stop pestering you about it.”
Lovino thought about it. Alfred was respectful, and he was pretty damn cute. Lovino sighed and said, “I suppose I can go out for coffee with you.” Alfred's head perked up. “There’s one condition, though.”
“And that is?”
“You don't fucking tell my brother.”
