After making dinner for Blaine, something thta had taken all day, it was safe to say that Kurt was exhausted. He knew it was something tat he bought on himself because he had the great idea of making dinner from scratch and worked on a three course meal all day for Blaine just because it was Valentine’s Day. Thankfully, Blaine had remembered the day as well so his efforts weren’t for nothing and he didn’t finish the day spending like an idiot as Blaine wondered why he’d made such a big deal out of dinner. 

The meal was cleared off their plates in what felt like a blur. It was really no surprise Blaine had eaten so quickly - Kurt knew for a fact that Blaine was a huge fan of his food, especially when it was his favourite so he would be shocked if Blaine had been the one to eat slow for a change. But even Kurt ate quickly. He knew he could cook but Kurt was incredibly proud of himself at how well he’d put the dinner together.  But this time he did put a lot more effort into it than normal - it wasn’t just any day after all so it had to be special.

“I don’t think I want to see food again fr the rest of my life,” Kurt laughed softly as he flopped down onto the couch next to Blaine, purring softly as he nuzled into Blaine’s neck. He smiled softly as he just watched Blaine for a few moments, and let his fingers stroke up and down his arm. “Thank you. For today. I know that you just got flowers and for some people it would mean that much but it does to me. I’ve never gotten any kind of Valentine’s gifts before that I probably would’ve been fine with those horribly tacky puppy love things as long as it was from you because -”

Thankfully his rambling was cut short, because he knew once he started he’d never stop, and he didn’t want to ruin tonight from saying something incredibly stupid when Blaine’s lips suddenly pressed against his without warning. They had kissed a few times before but it was planned in a way or it was a quick peck. Kurt smiled softly against his lips and gently cupped Blaine’s cheek as he kissed back, purring the whole time

Something must have happened to Coach Sylvester as she was even more of a slave driver than normal today. She was always hard going but Kurt was used to her antics and could catch up with her crazy expecations. But today, she snapped at something - Kurt guessed Mr. Schue must have pissed her off but Blaine didn’t indicate that anything was wrong so maybe that news anchor guy did something to anger her again. 

Whatever her reason, her routine today had left Kurt aching everywhere that it should’ve ben considered a miracle that Kurt made it to his car without needing to stop or collaspsing on the floor. Today in general had been stressful enough without having this on top of it. Too many of the New Directions had been overly friendly with him, seemingly forgetting the reaon why he was pissed at him was because they ifgnored the fact Puck sexually assaulted his brother because they were too far up Puck’s ass and ruined Sebastian’s chance of feeling like he was part of something at McKinley. It was part of the reason he was prioritising Cheerios at the moment.

Speaking of his brother, Kurt was disappointed when he came home to see tha Sebastian wasn’t there. Part of him did want to get a massage from him - Kurt had the pleasure of getting one from Sebastian one day during one of his rants and it really helped with his sore neck that day so maybe that would help with his sore muscles. but mostly, Kurt had just wanted to vent to his brother and have someone who would listen to him rather than playing devil’s advocate. 

After waiting about twenty minutes and Sebastian still hadn’t came home, Kurt sighed and decided that the only way he’d get some kind of relief was to get a bath. He didn’t ahve them often, but they’d helped with stress relief before and whenever Blaine went too hard, so it was the best option he currently had. 

It turned out that the bath was working better than he thought. Kurt let out a soft moan almos as soon as he he laid back in the water and once he’d been soaking in it for a few minutes, Kurt would’ve fallen asleep if it hadn’t been for the door bursting open and Sebastian walked in like it was nothing causing Kurt to jump and the moment of relaatio was gone.

 Kurt stared at his brother in wonderment as his brother brushed his teeth and after Sebastian didn’t respond, Kurt cleared his throat and raised his eyebrow when Sebastian turned “Excuse me? I’d appreciate some privacy.” Sebastian seemed mostly unphased as he rolled his eyes and finished up and put the toothbrush back in the holder “Calm down, it’s nothing I haven’t seen before.” Scoffing, Kurt grabbed one of the shampoo bottles and tossed it at the taller boy “I’m serious, either join me or get out. I’m not having you watch me like a creep.”

Dating was something that Kurt didn’t expect Sebastian to do, considering the disastrous events that happened with Puck. If Kurt was in hs shoes, it probably would’ve turned Kurt off dating for years to come, especially after the rumours Puck spread about Sebastian - it was bad enough being assaulted like that, but when the assaulter came up with a lie to make you look bad? It would be difficult to see relationships in a positive way after that. Even if what Sebastian had with Puck was never going to be permenant. For Kurt if it wasn’t for the fact he met Blaine before the Karofsky thing, he would probably still be single even if Blaine still kissed him after Pavarotti died.

Thankfully, it didn’t have too much of a lasting effect on Sebastian and while no one he datd seemed like it was going to be very long lasting, Kurt was happy that his brother was starting to experience what it would be like with someone who wasn’t him and a guy who wasn’t a complete sleaze ball. He wasn’t too sure how he should actually feel about the guy Sebastian was going on a date with - especially since it wasn’t Mike and Kurt knew that his brother had a crush on - but he couldn’t be any worse than Puck, right?

When Sebastian went out that night, Kurt had the house to himself. Their father had to work late, and Blaine had to go to some family event so he couldn’t come over. Kurt really had no idea how Sebastian was able to put up with this. Sebastian was home alone much more than Kurt was and he seemed to enjoy it. Kurt felt like he was missing out on something here - it was nice to have some peace and quiet but it was boring more than anything else. Apart from havin g the time and privacy to jerk off, what exactly was there to do?

Thankfully, Kurt didn’t have to wait that long until Sebastian arrived back home. It was a lot earlier than Kurt anticipated - he couldn’t have been gone longer than an hour. Which either meant the date went horrifically or something came up that they had to resechedue. Judging from the pissed look on Sebastian’s face when he came into their room, Kurt was going to go with the latter.

“Is everthing okay?” Kurt asked, his eyebrows raising slighty as he watched Sebastian strip out of his clothes so he was only in his boxers. He wasn’t sure if he should say anything further when Sebastian shot him an annoyed look but Kurt just stayed silent as he waited for Sebastian to speak.

Sebastian had started to rant about the guy - how he seemed like he was really nice when they’d been talking through Facebook and because they went to a good restaraunt that he wasn’t going to be another Puck who just wanted something from him and only give him food that had been defrosted as a way to win him over. He actually seemed like he was going to pay for the food rather than trying to pull a dine and dash like Puck did but apparently the guy Sebastian met up with tonight was just as bad as Puck when it came to only having one thing on his mind.

Kurt was feeling sympathetic, but when the words “When he said he would give me a pearl necklace, I thought I was getting actual jewelry.” left Sebastian’s mouth, Kurt snorted slightly before he burst out into laughter.

He tried to stop when he saw the incredibly disapproving look from his brother but even when he thought he got his laughing under control, Kurt still let out a few soft giggles, “I’m sorry, I know I shouldn’t be laughing,” He said, before he started to laugh a little harder before managing to keep his face straight “But why would him giving you a real pearl necklace make you want to go on a date with him? Like I’m all for breaking gender stereotypes but I’ve never seen you wear something that would suit a pearl necklace or anything that’s gender non-conforming. Why would you need a pearl necklace?”

In the year Kurt and Blaine been together, they’d been through a lot and so much had happened in their lives that it was hard to believe at times that it had only been a year they had been together. If it wasn’t for the fact the year had went by so quickly, Kurt could’ve sworn that it was much longer because while they did try to have any kind of semblance of a normal life it never seemed to work and they had to come to terms with the fact that their life was perfectly chaotic.

When their first year anniversary came along, it was hard to decide on what to do because nothing seemed like it would be enough. It wasn’t like they were a couple of teenagers who were happy to celebrate a relationship that might not last another year and it was celebrating the unknown or the fact it’s a milestone in their relationship. They were soulmates. They couldn’t just do some silly date and leave it at that. Kurt felt like this celebration had to be something more but when it came to dramatic and over the top and ridiculously romantic, Kurt wasn’t the expert - Blaine was.

So when he told Blaine that he could be in charge of the anniversary celebrations after Blaine kept talking about his plans, Blaine just gave him a smile and siad “I’m going to make you regret saying yes to this”. Kurt didn’t think any of this at first, but when the day came along, he realised exactly what Blaine had meant that he’d regret saying yes.

It started off fairly normal with Blaine sending him away to one of those spas that actually were beneficial and did things for his skin considering they were all vampires or knew vampires so they’d know what would work - the stuff Kurt used to use kind of worked, but really, the stuff they used they used in places like this actually made his skin feel as good as it used to when he was human. Blaine had also sent him to one of the near by salons to get a hair cut (it was more of a trim but his hair was styled which ws the main thing). It did frustrate Kurt slightly that Blaine was doing this. It was their day. Blaine should’ve done something for himself and he really hoped that Blaine was treating himself right rather than stressing himself out to make it perfect for Kurt. For his birthday, it was understandable  but their anniversary was their day.

When he was given the suit that Blaine bought for him when he finished up at the spa, Kurt couldn’t help but shake his head with a smirk on his face. He wasn’t too surprised at this. Kurt had been talking about this for weeks and how much he needed this suit. He’d planned to buy it when he actually had a use to show it off but it seemed like Blaine felt like it would be a perfect gift even though it was far more expensive than Kurt would normally allow. But he wouldn’t complain. Not today at least. It was going to be a special day today and if he complained then he’d just prove Blaine right that he’d regret saying yes.

Although the suit and the pampering weren’t the only things Blaine did. He stepped inside, fully expecting for Blaine to have done something but what that something was took Kurt completely by surprise. He stammered for a few moments as he looked around. He must have been working all day, or spent a hell of a lot of money for this.

The entire room was decorated elaborately - it was an almost exact replica of the scene on the top of the elephant in Moulin Rouge. It was something Kurt had loved for a while and he’d told Blaine before about how he thought the movie was one of the most romantic things he’d seen. Kurt didn’t think Blaine would’ve remembered this - it had been so long ago that Kurt had mentioned it. 

Blaine was standing in the middle of the room and looked appropriately smug with himself. Kurt was still speechless as he walked closer to Blaine and looked around the room, trying to see if he was imagining everything that he was seeing at the moment. “I told you I’d make you regret saying yes to this” Kurt titled his head and shot Blaine a look before smiling at him “You’ve really outdone yourself, Blaine Anderson,” Kurt smiled, and wrapped his arms around Blaine’s shoulders and sighed as he leaned towards him “But I won’t say anything. Not today. You’ll get your lecture tomorrow,” Kurt smirked before his face became more serious “I do love what you’ve done… And I love you.” Kurt’s eyes fluttered shut as he closed the gap between their lips and kissed the other softly, “Happy anniversary, Blaine..”

Moving to New York was by far one of the best things that could’ve happened for his and Blaine’s sex life. Sebastian was ocassionally there but with work, and now Mike, he just wasn’t around as often. And while Kurt missed him, it did seem to be what he and Blaine needed. They no longer had to worry about being quiet or waiting until they were the only ones in the house. Really, if they could and Kurt knew both of them didn’t have  any outside obligations, that they would have a day where they’d do nothing but have sex and make use of the many toys Wes inexplicably got Kurt for his birthday.

But lately it felt like things had been slowing down and it wasn’t really either of their faults. With Kurt in NYADA and busting his ass to get into the Winter Showcase (which he was mainly doing so he could beat Rachel into being one of the few freshmen to get that privilege) and Blaine trying to have a “normal” job they didn’t cross paths as much as they used to and their sex lives were about as active as they were in Lima - active but nowhere near the levels it should be when they were alone and didn’t need to sleep.

A few months later it hadn’t been much different. Kurt had been even busier since he got the coveted spot Rachel was after because he had to prove to everyone else just how good he was and he had to settle it once and for all to Rachel that he was better than her and there were no drugs involved. He was going for something muted or something that would just show off his voice and had no need for props or dances so Rachel couldn’t corner him or tattle to Carmen that he was taking drugs and had allegedly been taking them since high school. Kurt couldn’t prove her wrong (although she couldn’t be proven right) and if they wanted a test… well it might expose him as a vampire so it was best to play it safe but still destroy the competition. Which shouldn’t be too hard. When it came to his voice, Kurt knew that he’d be able to stun people with his talent. While choosing the song, Kurt had toyed with the idea of singing ‘Maria’ from West Side Story to prove that he was the better choice for Tony than Finn would ever be - Kurt still didn’t understand Mr Schue’s reasoning behind that other than facilitating Rachel’s obsessive need to play Maria that she would leave the Glee club and ruin everyone’s chances of getting into a good college without doing well in competitions because she didn’t play that role in high school, despite the fact she could easily play it on a real stage when she left NYADA and it would actually lead her somehwere.

However, it was Rachel. Logic never really applied to her unless she was getting all the attention.

The big day of the Winter Showcase finally came along and Kurt had thankfully settled on a song. Close Every Door was slightly overdone but not as much as some other songs, and it was emotional. It would do the job and prove to everyone, especially Rachel, that he deserved to be here. Kurt did toy with the idea of doing what he did best - singing songs traditionally done by a woman but this was his first time here. He didn’t want to be too controversial. So he’d wait until at least next year to how what he was capable of. Maybe if Rachel was in the showcase next year - she was talented so she probably would be once they stamped that diva attitude out of her - he’d sing Defying Gravity so show he could actually hit that high F with little trouble. Kurt hadn’t actually tried it since turning into a vampire, but singing was easier in general now - it would probably sound even better if he tried it now.

One thing he wasn’t prepared for was what he was going to wear. Kurt must have gone through about fifty different outfits - thank God for superspeed letting him change so quickly- when he finally turned around to Blaine and raised his eyebrows “I don’t know, what do you think about this one?”

In a blink of an eye, he’d been pinned against the wall, face-first, while Blaine growled behind him “I’m guessing that’s a yes,” Kurt chuckled, waiting until Blaine loosened his grip when he turned and pinned Blaine against the wall, letting their lips brush “But you need to wait… I think when we come back after I win tonight, we’ll enjoy it more. It’ll be more reason to celebrate.” Kurt let his eyes trail down to Blaine’s lips before smirking as he pulled back a little bit, just so he could hold Blaine’s gaze “Now go get dressed,” He whispered before sauntering over to his vanity table.

Barry couldn’t help but look at Lee with slightly wide eyes. They didn’t often talk about their relationship - at least the never spoke about the more ‘serious’ parts of it. It normally wasn’t something that bothered Barry, but sometimes he was left confused about what their relationship really was and he’d always been too nervous to ask Lee directly. Their dynamic was one that Barry was just not used to in the slightest.

Like now - Barry was normally the one to start talking about feelings (although with him and Iris they both equally talked about their feelings with little prompting) so having Lee start it was something that left Barry stumped for a few moments as he stared at the other man in slight wonderment before he fonally replied to him.

“I don’t think that love is insane. Or blind.” Barry started, not sure at all where he was going to go with what he was going to say. It was nothing new in their relationship. It was one of the only times that Barry didn’t know what to do and went with his instincts. So maybe it was only natural he was doing that now. “I think it can happen at any time... and without reason. It’s unpreditcable but that doesn’t mean that it’s insane. And I’ll be honest, I kind of like that love’s unpredictable. It would just be boring if we knew exactly what was going to happen and know exactly who we’re going to be with in ten years time. I’m not saying that we’re going to last years and years... but I do want to see what happens.”
