Anelsonia Eurycarpa, also called the “Bear’s Paw,” is a rare and unusual succulent belonging to the southwestern United States. It belongs to the cactus household and is understood for its distinct, furry-looking pads that resemble the paws of a bear. The plant has small, spiky thorns and produces gorgeous purple flowers in the summertime.

I have wanted this weird fucking thing since forever. It's so strange looking and I simply needed it.

BEARS PAW<3 I LOVE fuzzy succulents so when I first saw this one I knew I had to have one and now I do :D

So with most of these I am also going to remove a few leaves to propagate, probably not the baby toes and bears paw yet since I'm not sure HOW to propagate them but I'll look it up in the next week or so

Also skipping the quarantine period for these guys since I've ordered from this seller before and never had pest problems with plants from them.

When you LOVE sOMeone but it goes tO WASTE........

Seriously I’ve been fighting several bears paws since I finally got the chance to pick one up earlier this year. I absolutely adore them, but they hate me. Well, that’s life sometimes.

I have some variegated bear paws that I saved from being very very sickly, but now they’ve been growing in kind of warped

Do you have any tips on how to grow varigated bear paws?

I heard they need a bit extra light compared to non variegated bear paws but that’s all I know

Lets see, I don’t think i have many tips, you grow them the same as they other succulent. They do need more light because of their variegation, they don’t have as much chlorophyll so they need more light to be able to make enough energy compared to non-variegated ones. They don’t need water as often as other succulents because they’re so fat and chunky and full of water, so I make sure I squish their paws to check for thirst before I give them any water.

They also have rather fragile leaves sometimes but I believe that’s a sign they’re not getting enough light. Their leaves also have a very hard time propagating so if any fall off try not to hope for babies as it’s more likely to just shrivel up than produce.
