We'll call this another page full of marker sketches, because I lost patience for doing colored pencil details on anything but the gazelle, whoops.
These are still fun to mess around with :3

@beastlyart
AS REQUESTED MADAME <3
(Couldn’t submit these, so i’m tagging youuuu)
Second of the full-body commissions, for @beastlyart of their delightful one-man blue man group. He was a blast to draw, even if figuring out how to conversationally pose two extra arms is a puzzler. :B
Garbo phone pics, I might actually scan this one tomorrow or get some better shots, since all of these practice sketches/doodles gooot away from me. Anyway, I got some new alcohol markers and played around with them, they're very smooth and relaxing. Swatching? Never heard of her ( though these did come with a chart that I eventually filled out and that... did help a lot with the guesswork :| ).
I may try to crop Deacon and the moth and rework that into a full picture, IDK. It was fun!
Forgot to take a better picture somewhere besides work, BUT. Please look at these incredibly derpy felt and bead ornaments I made for my mom, based on her two cats. THESE TOOK FOREVER. I’d never made one before so the black and white is obviously my prototype, the orange went a lot faster and smoother. I meant to do more because they are very fun to make but DID I MENTION TIME CONSUMING.
Anyway, Cherry Mistmas!
Visiting and chatting with some old fur friends made me a bit nostalgic. Here's some sketches of a revamped 'sona concept. I'm thinkiiing Red River Hog with some bat features? (li'l nubby wings maybe? we'll see)
I find the vintage pony art style so challenging, but I like drawing little rainbow animals so here's some practice with a horse that lives on my desk. Her name is Viking Grandpa, legal name Shoreline, but she wears this bracelet I got from the Amonklok concert.
beastlyart replied to your post “what settings do you use for your magic wand and fill tools? i keep...”
Oh I never thought of using the increment tool, neat! Sometimes if it's just a blank background I select everything outside the lineart and just do invert selection too.
Haha that’s actually what I do 99% of the time. I still increment a bit just so it doesn’t bleed over the lines once I’ve inverted but yeah, it’s a good strategy. Then you can set the whole silhouette as a clipping group so you can have at the edges without needing to keep it all selected.
