More beatrich bc their butchxfemme dynamic is everything to me
I had dreamed of her our last night in France. She had stood on the beach down in our secret cove, dressed exactly as she had been in the only picture I’d seen of her, old and washed out, in a magazine in one of our endless hotels. I’d hidden the magazine from Maxim on instinct. Any mention of her would have sent him into a stupor for days. But at night I had snuck out of our room and cut out the picture with the scissors from my sewing kit. It had travelled with me all the way back to England, hidden in the inside pocket of my coat. Why I could not let her go, I did not know, only that she was someone else to me now, almost a companion. The Rebecca in my mind did not shy away from any mention of Manderley, of the past. She smiled the same serene smile she had in that cut out photograph, and it never changed, however much I willed it to. She had smiled in my dream too, had turned to me and smiled and beckoned for me to join her, to let the water lick at my ankles.
Chapter 1 of my new fic Where the Lavender Grows is up now. I'm having a lot of fun already!
Imagine Beatrice and Ich just having a sleepover and somehow managing to get Clarice to join in and having a girl's night like none of them are traumatized.
(bonus: by some kind of miracle Mrs Danvers joins as well and the girly group is complete) (Ich would have to BEG for it, and would only work in an au were they get along)
You got something inside that would take all my problems away
Beatrich - Pardon Me
Beatrich is a Lithuanian singer from Kaunas. Her latest music video Superstar was filmed in Kaunas Bus Station.
The butchxfemme of it all
"I thought I might have been mistaken just from reading your letters," Beatrice said pensively, "but you really have grown. You are quite changed from the person I knew you to be before."
"I know."
I was very comfortable next to her on the settee. Her closeness did not bother me, in fact, I welcomed it. I had gone too long with only one person for company. It felt entirely natural that my head should come to her shoulder; that her hand, after brushing a loose thread off my dressing gown, should come to rest just above my knee.
"Before it all came apart," I said, "when we had just met... I often wished that we could be closer."
"So did I."
"But even before... I thought myself so very inferior I could not have confided in you. And then when they found her, when Maxim – well after that it was impossible." I drew back for a moment to find her looking at me. Her face was soft, so much easier to read than her brother's. There was no difficulty in taking her hand and raising it to my lips, in pressing a kiss into her open palm. "I do not think that way now."
Tiny Beatrich snippet for you all. I have one hook for a Beatrich fic and this is it. Is this something you'd want to read more of?
I waited for the call to be put through, fiddling with my wedding ring. I spun it around and around my finger. Maybe I ought to have had it resized.
“Hello?” Beatrice’s voice startled me. I had missed the click of the line connecting.
“Hello,” I said. “It’s me.”
“Oh!” Even like this I could hear the genuine delight in her voice. I smiled to myself, picturing her leaning closer to the phone. “How are you?”
“I’m well, thank you.” I hadn’t thought of anything to say, or a reason to have called. “I just wanted to hear your voice.”
