The Company We Keep...I feel humbled to have been nominated in 3/4 categories for @hiphopherculespodcast year-end awards, and even better, I WON ONE!!! Two years in a row I’ve been nominated for Song Of The Year (“State Of The YOUnion” is one of the heaviest songs I’ve ever done, video coming soon as well...please go get “Like Water For Hangovers” if you haven’t yet). Hardest Grind might mean the most to me with regards to the nominations, as I have sole control over that. Another year I put out an album and did countless shows opening and in the presence of legends while teaching full-time. Then I spent my summer doing almost 40 shows while touring the country on #WarpedTour , living in an RV, and working all day in blistering heat as part of the @coolsuppliers team. Came home, recorded another 30+ songs since returning and dove into the #BeatsNotBullets program as an instructor while making the full-time music thing work. Finally, I won the “Most Underestimated” category which was basically made for me, but we’re finna change that in 2019. Anyone who knows me is well aware that being equal parts emcee and educator is close to my heart. The ultimate fulfillment of this has been #BeatsNotBullets .
