I’ve gotten pretty lax about posting new reviews here over the summer – I blame the addictive ease of Untappd, which I finally got around to joining a couple of months ago – but I’m going to try and get back into the groove of offering slightly more detailed notes here on at least a semi-regular basis. To get things rolling again, here’s Beau's Lug Tread Lagered Ale. A promotional delivery of the new Beau’s Fall Mix Pack brought me a very fresh bottle of this old favourite – just 12 days off the line at time of drinking – and as always with Kölsch-style beers, fresher is better. Subtle notes of bread dough, crackers, honey, hay, and cut grass all mingle in a simple and elegant golden ale.
